Yes that is the crux of the matter. Despite all the wet weather if we did not have a drainage issue on one side of the pitch the Burton and Bury games would have gone ahead. Even the clun admits we have a problem but in Fl's own mind that is incorrect as well.
Nobody is denying the rainfall issue, but elsewhere has also had lots of rainfall and their pitches have drained well. Ours, as highlighted above, hasn't.
Sorry Dave, you suffer from being much less clever rather than much more clever.
Because the pitch doesn't have a drainage issue, it came extremely close to being fully playable. It was only because the weather was so freakishly bad that some small patches of the pitch couldn't cope. Had we experienced the sort of rain we'd expect in a normal year, the pitch would have been fine. We've had 20 times the rain we normally get over the recent period and came within 5% of getting the game on. That's not a drainage issue, that's freak weather.

There may be a drainage issue - there may not. Plainmoor has always suffered from waterlogged pitches. However, what cannot be disputed is the fact we have had unprecedented rainfall. Combine that with a pitch that is prone to being waterlogged, and hey, what a surprise, we have had some games postponed. It isn't the end of the world, we are not much further adrift than if we had played them - bizarrely, our position is almost stronger than it was. We now have games in hand and our fate is in our own hands. Might not have been had the game gone ahead in conditions that made the spectacle a lottery.

Mattypoos not going to discuss with you any more you know you're wrong, just about everyone else knows you're wrong, a side to all this, here's a reason why other clubs are getting games on during this weather and we're not. Not having a pop at anyone here, but we can bury our heads in the sand like Matt, Hector, or we can do some thing about it.

Ok Chris, no worries. Still think it's bad idea to switch to Home Park, however if this run of postponements continues on for to much longer, could the F.A force us to switch our games ? Remember our cup tie with Stockport a few seasons ago, ended up at Moss Rose.

I wonder what is most likely:
A) Us and Newport (as the only football league clubs with consistent postponements), are the only towns to have suffered this 'freak' weather...?
Or
B) Everyone in the country has suffered this awful weather, and us and Newport just happen to have pitches that don't respond well to it...?

Most pointless thread I've ever seen .. Switch to home park? Ok then let's pay Plymouth to play there then lose out on our average 2 thousand. I know we're not getting any income in at the moment but we will do soon when games are played. Switching to HP would be a kick in the bollocks and I wouldn't bother going.
