Matt.
Mis-kicked it into the top corner as I remember it. The rest, as they say . . . . . . .
(was also the game me and bruv moved from the enclosure and reacquainted our persons to the Popside. It worked and the rest, as they say . . . . . . . .)
All bow now

and thank the great Trojan and his bruv for the sleight of hand, two foot quickstep to the Pop and resultant resurrection shuffle.

Injury time 1.1 playing badly against then bottom of the league Northwich, trust me at that point I was a fully paid up member of the Buckle out club. I remember the game well also, we get awarded the most bizarre penalty ever, remember laughing my head off when the ref pointed to the spot, then as said Sills miss-kicked the ball, however it goes in, so the fortunes of an under fire, under pressure TUFC manager on that one incident of good luck changed for the better, and yes, Matt, that is exactly my point.
Arcadia, yes your are correct, there does need to be a cut off point, we as a club can not go blindly from one bad result to another with out at some point realizing things will have to change, however that point is not less than a 3rd of the way through the season, as said the club will be committing itself to a further £70-100k pay out and a hunch, opinion that AK will not be able to turn things around, and there is no guarantee that things will not worse under a new manager.
Right now, our job as fans should be to back the manager, and give him our support, let the club decide when things have gone to far.

Clubs sack managers for many reasons - results is just one of the commonest. Clubs with no money do it not just those who can afford the payoffs. I expect there to be at least 10 managers dismissed in L2 this season and it will include clubs who 'can't afford it'.
Clubs like Torquay can build and rebuild Managers reputations and they can also be the graveyard to a managerial career.
If Knill is to join them, in my view the weakness in cover for centre-backs from the beginning of the season together with the lack of creativity in midfield will have made a major contribution. People on here during August mentioned it many times. Knill does get the team to compete but there is something despairing about the team.

A lot of managers get good players and put sides together motovate but seldom can read games or get tactics right. If someone had watched Mansfield in preparation for todays game the team should have been set up differantly as the second half was, when Craig came. This should have been done after twenty minutes Knill has not got a clue, Buckle got good players and motivated them but did not have a clue about tactics, Knill is very much the same.

That is a stupid question to ask.
Perhaps we can ask, why is Alan Knill a football manager?
Or, what on earth possessed the club to appoint him, bearing in mind the heavy weight of evidence that suggested he wasn't very good?

I've been there done it, what I am trying to get over to you. What experience have the directors got with regard to guidance as we can see the loan players coming in but after Saturday would you say it was new players again. The shape of the side has been wrong since the start of the season. If you were driving your car up the motorway not finding your destination, you would stop and ask or change of direction. All I'm saying it's time for someone to tell Allan to try something else because 4-2-4 is not working. If I was putting money into the club this is what I would be saying.(Not sacking him)

It was more of a 4-2-4 but with Bodin dropping off the front as the wingers did not work back so Mansell and McCourt were on their own except when Bodin worked back.

It was 4-2-4 as Bodin did drop off to give an extra player but in the main it was still the same as the wide players stayed up, you are right it was different. Bodin was outstanding at times and maybe suited to this position.

I cant see what all the fuss is about, you have to give Knill a chance as we don't have any choice..........Last year the majority of fans turned against Ling (not all I accept) we didn't want to give him a chance to return to work and get an opportunity to prove his worth and turn things around but instead believed we had found the messiah in Knill who apparently saved us from relegation........not my words........the board responded to the desire of the majority of fans and thats we got. We turned our back on a manager who I believe did his best with the players he had, may be uninspiring football at times but I believe he played to the strengths he had and in time that would of improved. However what we have is perhaps not what was expected but lets be honest is probably what we deserved, should Knill be sacked......I don't know, perhaps we should give him more time but then again perhaps we should have afforded that opportunity to Ling and we would certainly be financially better off and well on the way to a better team even tho 1-0 uninspiring victories and defeating our local rivals wouldn't please everyone...........I know which one I would prefer.......................Difficult times, an unsettled team, no money, redundancies such a difference a year makes.........

If you think that was 4-2-4 and have worked as a football manager, one, what game were you watching two, gord help the players you worked with.

It is not the was not 4-3-3 if anything 4-2-1-3 but ended up 4-2-4 when B odin was forward it's just numbers it's how they play that counts if you read the post you would understand. When Craig came on we switched to 4-3-3 and it looked better.

Arcadia, you are entitled to your opinions, just out of interest, so far you have told us, you have had a raw deal as a pro player, and spent time as a manager, who did you play for and at what age ? What team have you managed ?
Just to add as a general point, just heard Lee Clark's interview after the Leeds game, when asked about the system Birmingham had used, his reply was, systems, why are people so obsessed with systems, kick the ball right, head it right and defend. Now that's something I do agree with, said it many a time, there is no magical system, if there was everyone would use it, do the simple things right, and you will always have a chance of winning the game.
