The tackle that led to the penalty had amateur* stamped all over it. I apologise to all amateurs, I've seen amateurs make better tackles.

*1974-75 season saw amateur status abolished and the introduction of contract and non-contract status.

(back in my day non-contract didn't describe me, gifted amateur did) ;-)

As I previously said cruise was injured and requested not to play but this was ignored so its not surprising he wasn't at his best.

I cannot see Cruise being here next year. Seems he is a little miffed and lack of first team opportunities so suspect even if we offered him terms he would reject them!

He is very frustrated at the lack of opportunities to say the least. But I think he will play a larger role next year.

Hmm, can't really blame him for that I suppose. On the other hand, I agree with Supergulls, if he were to stay, his chances of becoming a first team regular next season may improve immeasurably, more so than if he were to move to a different club...

He just got into the team and played a couple of good games when he was unfortunate enough to be attacked while he was in london and suffered concussion. The doctors said he couldn't play for a week so Nicholson gets his place back and then we win two matches so the manager isn't going to change a winning side.

Attacked as in mugged or a drunken incident??

He was getting out of his car with some shopping bags when some youths tried to mug him, he declined their offer of handing over his trainers and was jumped. He was holding his own until one hit him with a bat. He was then set upon while on the floor

Moral of the story, avoid London/avoid youths.
