its about the only real ale pub in torquay!! i see the old fella behind the bar passed away recently, he wont mind me saying that he was a grumpy old sod!!

live in the epicentre of real ale that is sheffield, there cant be many places with so many great pubs, surrounded by top quality local breweries (thornbridge, bradfield, abbeydale, little ale cart, blue bee, kelham island, sheffield brew company etc) and some very competitive prices too!! £2 all the time at the nags head, bradfield's tap pub!!)

i truly am in heaven. despite having a cold today im heading out to the sheffield tap, with its own brewhouse, the hallamshire house (a thornbridge pub) and the closed shop. swerving the beer festival, as its hit and miss on the last night as to whether they'll have anything left!!

Bought some COTLEIGH ales brewed in Wiveliscombe. Many are named after birds of prey for some reason and I've got the one named after the steam railway too.

enjoyed "one or two" Geeves Clear Cut - an extra pale ale with bags of American hops for a real citrus kick. Flavours of
pine resin and citrus fruits create this mouth-watering pale ale. Geeves is a fine brewery in Barnsley...

Tried an amazing beer the other night. Mocha Amaretto made by Batemans.

I usually don't like Batemans but this one was really something special. At first, it actually tastes like chocolate. Not like those beers which just taste like beer with a bit of chocolate, this one is actually like drinking a hot chocolate. After that, there's a really nice Amaretto taste with a nice sweet aftertaste. It's like two beers in one! Bloomin' marvellous.

well, I had to do it last night - several pints of geeves navigator as well as several more pints of barnsley bitter.........

the bitter was grand -even if it is brewed in sh*thole sheffield! =D

Barry Island IPA tonight. 6%. A bit stronger than I'd normally go for but bloody lovely.
