Although the ref today is a clown we've had him a lot, never goes well

The picture on DAZN for the first 45 mins is utterly disgraceful. Its only a £10er I know but just have the decency to check what the picture looks like to others before the game. Looks like they have sorted it out now with a proper wipe after the first couple of fails.

He did our cup game Vs Truro which seems an odd appointment for the league game, and had him numerous times, always a shambles

What was the attendance?

5,135 lots of space in the Babbacombe end and gaps elsewhere so could have been even more.

That's a great turnout no matter what. We'll done to everyone especially the Board for bringing back the feelgood factor. Boreham and Maidstone putting on some real pressure now. It's going to be a great second half to the season.

That was an enjoyable match which I thought would end nil nil, that is as noisy as I have heard plainmoor for many a year,truro are a very good team, the ref made a series of very bizarre decisions but nothing more than we have come to expect in this league, I didnt see a dirty tackle the whole match.
Although I am not his greatest fan I hope foulston is back soon, he is solid and mainly dependable, Carson was rinsed today and second half truro were targeting him, a good player but not a full back, Hayfield again stood out for me, he never stops. Morgan a class act for his pace and his willingness to get to the bye line.

Well, that wasn't for the faint-hearted! Thought we shaded the first half with 6 attempts and three on target but Truro had two good attempts themselves, both well saved by Hamon. But second half we were second best for much of the time, Truro had by far the better chances and we only created three, one of which was a solo effort by Jordan Young for a great match-winning goal. But Hamon had to make several good and two outstanding saves, one of which rattled the bar, to secure the three points. Well done the defence, particularly Jordan Dyer who I thought had his best game for us. He had to be good to make up for Sam Dreyer who, in contrast, had an unusually poor game against lively opposition and was fortunate not to pick up two yellows. That privilege went to Jordan Thomas who showed a distinct lack of maturity to almost give the game away. So it basically was a game of three Jordans but it still left James Hamon to get my vote as MOTM. Cracking attendance and at least one spectator will go home extra happy and £2,730 better off!

On a damp New Years Day this was a tense battle from minute 1 to minute 97.

Truro City are a very decent side and in the last 18 minutes after a great Jordan Young strike we defended superbly none more so than James Hamon who was kept very busy as Truro fought like tigers until the end.

Paul Wotton in his Post Match Interview was his usual honest self when he asserted Truro will be right near the top of NLS at the season end.

With a crowd of 5,135 including 243 from Truro this was a huge vote of confidence in Torquay United as a team and a Club under our new owners who have transformed our fortunes in an incredibly short period of time.

For those not at the match this team never gives up and every player is proud to wear the shirt. We are dogged, committed, determined, resolute and the fans are again enjoying the Plainmoor atmosphere.

When I look back to our previous time in the NLS there is absolutely no doubt the standard of play and fitness even in part time teams is much higher. COYY.

A great result. Truro deserved a draw really but boo hoo they didn’t get one.

I also played my part by not giving the ball back when it went into the Babbacoombe end. must have wasted at least 10 seconds just when we needed it!

Another nerve wracking last 20 as Truro piled it on but our defending is outstanding.
Thought we were a bit fortunate to win but you can't fault the committment and the fight to get 3 points.
Very encouraged by Dillon Morgan, quick , strong and aggressive. Don't understand why a pitch inspection was needed , no problem at all

Strange who people see the game isn’t it?

I thought Jordan Thomas had a good game up until the sending off. Yes definitely a slight lack of experience after all ready being booked but he went for a ball that he was perfectly entitled to go for in my opinion whilst the Truro player had has hand on virtually on his throat. The Truro players made the most of it surrounding the ref, as they did with a few 50/50 incidents where there was no need.

Need to see the highlights for the goal, it’s either a great goal or very jammy lol just as I was thinking selfish sod for not passing and it’s in!

Truro were good for their money but lacked, as we do, a finisher. Resilient performance regardless that looked hard work!
Great effort from all.

When I arrived at about 13.50 there was standing water on the edges of the pitch and it was raining heavily. The ref tested the pitch by rolling and bouncing a ball. It was Ok then and he asked the ground staff to work on the Family Stand end. Fortunately the rain then stopped and the pitch drained, help by ground staff with forks. The ref was going to keep checking nearer to kick off but as the rain stopped it wasn't necessary.

Assume Thomas was sent off for 2 yellow cards
What was his 1st for? He seemed to be taken out, won a free kick and was then booked when off the pitch
