Couldn't agree more. Complete disgrace.

I see on the O/S it says he "sees his future elsewhere". Well fine. You're a free agent in three months, Tyrone, you can go wherever you want then. What he means is he would rather spend three months in a team near the top than the bottom - well that isn't his choice, it was the clubs, and they let him do it. I bet the guy can't believe his luck. Will be laughing his way around the M25 as we speak.

To the board: you need a fans forum to explain yourself and face the music. You need to explain all of these catastrophic decisions to the people who are currently showing you very loyal support.

It is quite simply WEAK management and WEAK leadership. "We tried to persuade him to stay" .... you mean a player who is contracted to play for us until the summer, whose wages we pay, who has received plenty of support in his time here( not least when he "lamped" his own player and cost us THREE games!) is quite simply allowed to walk out the door as soon as he gets a sniff of a better offer elsewhere? If this sort of things was allowed to happen at proper, well run, football clubs - players would be coming and going, quite literally all of the time!

He puts in a transfer request, we politely decline it and remind him he is committed until the summer and we will look at it again then - what is SO difficult about that!

Well, the club has certainly lost a couple on the gate for the next home game I can tell you! :@

As suspected Marsh has an attitude problem

"He submitted a transfer request on Tuesday morning, which we reluctantly accepted, and we have now accepted an undisclosed bid from Dover Athletic for his services.

We did all that we could to keep him here, but he sees his future elsewhere and we thank him for his service and wish him well in the future."

If he doesnt want to be here, im glad hes gone.

As suspected someone with a slight bit of talent doesn't want to play in Conference south.

Not sure how you can interpret, an employee going to his boss and telling him he doesn't want to work for him or his Company any more because he has had a better offer, from a better organisation, that offers far more job security and promotion prospects than ours does as "Marsh has an attitude problem"???

The fact that he wanted to go (maybe he made his mind up on Saturday when he was hauled off after an hour) is neither here nor there as far as I am concerned, the player has ambition - nothing wrong with that - it's the fact that we allowed him to go at this stage when he only had a few months of his contract to run down is the problem I have.

The very fact that we apparently " tried very hard to keep him" suggests to me that his attitude wasn't as bad as you suggest.

Nail on head CP, Dover are 5th he doesn't want to be playing Concord Rangers next year and is probably fed up looking around at all the woefully inept players we have. Once we were offered any kind of fee can't see us playing hard ball so game over. Shame as he was one of the few players we do have who is perfectly good enough for this league.

wouldn't be surprised if MacDonald and Butler are next, shouldn't be wasting their time and talent playing for this shower.

He wouldnt have too, his contract is up at the end of the season, why not stay, score more goals and get a good move at the end of the season?

He's not that sort of player.

thought he signed 2 years?

Seems as though it was a one year deal, still the prospect of playing for a team in the playoffs >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> relegation certs

Because, as in life, that opportunity may just not be there in six months time - life as a professional footballer, is a particularly precarious one at this level, and Marsh will know that. An 18 month deal, closer to "home", no doubt on more money and with a real prospect of at least a tilt at the play offs and league football - why wouldn't you? There is every chance that we would have released him in the summer, given where we are heading, and so there is no job here for him and NO GUARANTEE of a job anywhere else either - loyalty works both ways.

The board could have done nothing else.

He handed in a transfer request. They said they tried hard enough to persuade him, but he still wanted to go. If they had then gone and rejected his request anyway, then his head wouldn't be in the game anyway. Each player has to be 100% focused on each game and if he wants to be elsewhere, then he needs to go.

As a positive, we have received a fee and also freed up his wages so we should theoretically be able to bring in a better player.

Stop moaning about things that you dont know the full details of and see who the club can bring in.

Another appalling piece of management by our now laughable football club. Like any business you need strong managers and we don't have them at any level. I got slaughtered by some when I questioned the credentials to do the job of CEO of a fan and also that of Director of football by a rather crap ex player and even worse commercial manager. Unfortunately it's been proved that they were both out of their depths and taking money under false pretences. People will still stick up for the CEO as he's a smashing bloke and a fan. That's worth loads in the conference south, assuming his tenure doesn't take us to extinction first. Pathetic.

Theoretically being the operative word. ;-)

Of course the Board COULD have done something about it - which is why Berahino is still wearing a West Brom shirt and not a Tottenham one, and countless other examples that fans probably never get to hear about.

Well from my point of view I haven't been moaning on this thread and you can scroll back through all of my posts on 3 Torquay supporters forums and you will find very little by way of moaning. However I saw my first game in 1963 and when I look around at a home game it is obvious from the age profile that most have been attending for a good many years. There have been some fantastic times, and there have also been many down times. However please don't be surprised to hear moaning. These are football supporters. Yes there have been down times, but never as down as this (for further information please refer to the league table for the National League Premier). ;-)
