Would make sense, the Knill link at Scunny plus via his contacts at Goodison.
Looks very much in the Benyon mould rather than Howe though!

I know. It's red robbo. He was always on strike

Haven't we spent a year whinging about playing one up front and knocking it long? What tactics do the pro-Bayo gang think we're likely to employ if their man comes here (which, obviously, he won't. Unless you know any different, RR?)
Matt.

His twitter states he is off to Ibiza today so doubt Juan will be having talks with him next week!

Why the hell do people want Akinfenwa? He was a half-decent player when with us before but nothing extra special and since then he seems to have spent all of his time in the gym. He has to be the most immobile person employed as a professional footballer.
You can't even stick him up front as a target man to launch balls up to, he's under 6 foot and with all that bulk would be lucky to out jump Danny Stevens little brother let alone a towering centre-half!

Yet he scored 17 goals last season....

Who ever said he was a target man (apart from Ferrarilover)?
Why don't you criticise Pokey for being a cr@p left-back while you're at it?
He's just a good striker. Ask Alan Knill.

Yeah Phil, you idiot, don't you know anything about Akinfenwa, the ultra mobile, quick footed racing snake who plays for Northampton, who, as a team, NEVER make a pass of more than 12 yards and absolutely did not spend 90 minutes at Plainmoor hacking 70 yard balls in his general direction and hoping for the best...
Matt.

However, Knill said it was unlikely that he will make a bid for the powerfully-built striker, who scored 17 goals to help the Cobblers reach the League Two play-off final.
"Everybody would like to have him in their side," he continued, "except 3 or 4 guys on the fans forum. If it wasn't for their expert analysis of his physique, I might well have tried to recruit him."

Fine, sign him, and when we spend the season watching Brian Saah pump long balls up to him, don't come here complaining about boring hoofball. What else is Knill going to say when asked about a player? "I don't like him, he's fat, he's slow and he isn't very good at scrabble"
Yeah, he's a fine and dandy player, but he's not someone I'd like to see sign for us because of the type of football we would have to play to get the best from him.
Matt.

Right, cleaned up this thread with all the rubbish that has been posted tonight.
All of you play nicely, or I will have to come over there and bang your heads together....and then get Dave to do the rest.
