I think we averaged around 1800 fans this season and should expect similar numbers next season. With no further payoffs due, I would be very disappointed if the players budget is cut.
I had heard that last season we spent nearly 20% of our budget on removing personnel from their respective posts. Let us all hope that we do not have to repeat that experience again.
You could argue that we survived despite the £100,000 we spent removing staff and therefore there's no point in spending the extra £100,000 on next seasons squad if we do not intend to fight for promotion. Perhaps a season of stability would do us all some good.
Still not sure why we reduced the early bird season ticket price so low, perhaps we have cash flow issues already.
It we all come out in the wash when the takeover has been completed.

Life is like TUFC. Perfect moments can be had, but not preserved, except in memory.

You could have sat down for lunch with Dave Phillips and Clarke Osborne and they could have told you all the plans for the season ahead. You passing that information on is hearsay.
Oooh !!! Okay, if you say so then that's what it is.monkeyboy wrote:You could have sat down for lunch with Dave Phillips and Clarke Osborne and they could have told you all the plans for the season ahead. You passing that information on is hearsay.
Just as we started discussing finances, budgets and severance pay on TUFans thread, it has mysteriously disappeared?
Very strange goings on with regards to those ousted ex board members, not sure what to make of these continual snipes. It must have been a very acrimonious farewell.

Let's be clear, hearsay is hearsay, doesn't matter whether the originator is Tweedle Dum, Tweedle Dee or God Himself, once the testimony is second hand, hearsay it must be.
Let it be assumed the budget for next term is the same as ever it was for that term just gone (it seems a reasonable premise, even if the numbers involved are simply too small to facilitate a reasonable chance of success), are we to include monies raised from the Player Fund or is that avenue to be closed?

I think that's beyond question now but that doesn't stop us wondering about their motives for doing so or the impact on the club/team. Other than a true supporter or an extremely wealthy football fan why would you want to buy a club like Torquay ?ROADRUNNER wrote:yes flipper thats what a forum is for, i agree but just saying i wasnt agreeing with what you say, but of course you could be right or not. at the end of the day we are being taken over by clarke osborne and gaming international weather we like it or not.
Sorry Roadrunner, just noticed your favourite player, Clint Boulton, I played with him a few times many years ago. Lovely bloke and a great player.ROADRUNNER wrote:yes flipper thats what a forum is for, i agree but just saying i wasnt agreeing with what you say, but of course you could be right or not. at the end of the day we are being taken over by clarke osborne and gaming international weather we like it or not.

great player and bloke as you say, if only we had him now, legend!, going back to what you said about why would you want to by a club like torquay, well there are several clubs out there about the same size of us who have been taken over by people with no connections, crawley being the latest. and i think mr osborne is pretty wealthy in his own right, but doesnt mean to say he is going to throw a million pound at it for a playing budget.
