Maybe if the fans actually waited for some ACTUAL news instead of just going off a rumour, we wouldn't get threads like this (and others).
Maybe the club should release a statement everytime Thaea moves, be that for food, drink or for a shit, people would be satisfied.
I'd rather they sorted stuff out first, instead of appeasing some people's lust for any old bit of information. I'd rather hard, cold facts than responses to speculation on a locked down website.
Why bother using words to defend your spurious argument when a "clever" picture can be used instead.
I guess we will have to agree to disagree Rich, you clearly feel that Plainmoor is a seething pit of animosity where the countries low-life gather to howl abuse at the players, whereas my experience is of a far more genteel nature.
Let's agree to disagree

I don't think it takes much guesswork to realise that the deal which was, let's face it, only 50/50 this time last week - and which was confidently predicted by the Herald Express team to complete by Friday of last week, or over the weekend at the latest is probably not going to happen now. For what it's worth, from what I have heard (not from what I've read elsewhere!) I understand that the original deal is pretty much dead in the water - with the usual caveat that, as in any negotiations there is always a chance that stumbling blocks can be overcome - but my gut feeling is that, as things stand, that is unlikely.
Like others have suggested, I am also under the impression that Kelvin Thomas has indeed left the building - with Bill Phillips and the remaining directors left "holding the baby". Of course, negotiations are still continuing as per the quote from the "senior source" ... but not necessarily with the original bidder I would suggest!
What I do find staggering is the lack of up to date information, coming out of either the club or the local media - the Herald in particular seem to be a couple of days behind everyone else! I guess we shouldn't be that surprised though as this consortium have always played their cards close to their chest and have always wanted to give the impression that everything is under control - even when the club is losing half a million quid a year and sliding down the leagues! Perhaps they are simply too proud to admit that they are skint (not personally I should add) and haven't really got much of a clue at running a football club (despite many of them being successful business people in their own right - running a football club is an entirely different kettle of fish).... as the saying goes "pride comes before a fall" and that may very well apply to TUFC and where we are now.
I would expect some developments by the end of this week, quite simply because time is running out and decisions have to be made on so many aspects of the football club - particularly the operational side of things. What we end up with might not be what we would have hoped for - it's surely far too early for the fledgling TUST to take over (not helped by the delay with the anticipated takeover) - so a lot of responsibility may now fall on the existing Directors to try and save the club, not ideal I know - but it may be all we have, for now at least.
At the moment, it does seem like no one at TUFC wants to come out and say how it really is - understandable perhaps, but burying their heads in the sand whilst still trying to remain upbeat about the future is not the way forward. In my opinion, some transparency is what is needed now, not honesty as such (no one at the club has been dishonest I am sure) but they just haven't been open enough. Perhaps if they had of been earlier - like telling the fans 12 months ago that we couldn't carry on like this forever - with Thea losing money hand over fist etc then the TUST might have got its act together a lot, lot sooner and might, by now, have been in a position to take over. But, as has always been the case with this administration they choose to keep all the "bad news" under wraps! You only need to take a look at the OS now to see my point, with the club on the verge (potentially) of one of the biggest crises in it's history and yet all the "news" has nothing to do with football, it seems! In fact you wouldn't even know there was any sort of changes going on at the football club, just now, such is the lack of information coming out of the official channels.

Just to finally put us out of our misery (whilst we barely have a straw to continue to grasp hold of!) - I take it this person you have spoken to knows and it is more than rumour?
No, it's not a rumour .... I wish it was! Like I say, never say never, it could still happen I suppose but at the moment from my understanding that looks very unlikely.

Although the story sounds like we have lost the preferred (and only realistic) bidder and are now desperately scrapping the barrel for a resolution.
Thank you for your honest posting CP Gull, what you say does rather confirm the 'round-about' info I had from a person behind the closed door, who would not actually say as much but made it very clear that it was what he was inferring! (if you get my drift).
Like you say, the total lack of communication from the custodians of our club is now appalling to say the least, and the childish comment from Scott Brehaut doesn't really help matters on the forum!
The official site seems more concerned about music festivals and shop hours - are they trying to lull everyone into a false sense of security or just take our minds of the crisis? (what crisis).
I still hope the initial takeover can be resurrected - but the longer the silence goes on, the less likely it seems that it will happen.

Chris (CP) thank the lord for your post. Now, maybe now the penny might actually start dropping with some just how critical the situation might just be, some fans are also burying their heads in the sand, some very intelligent, highly educated fans seem to think that the current debt free position and reduced budgets are going make it all just right, truly frightening.
I've suggested a number of times the ownership of the club is now likely, not definitely to end up in the hands of our current board, but my opinions hold no sway. I am in the process of joining the TUST, I appeal for all others to do so, time for us fans to prove whether we have the will.
Sensible post from Baygull a couple of pages back. Just a slight correction for accuracy - it was widely reported at the time that Thea said she hadn't wanted the job as Chairman when Simon Baker slunk away after shirking his responsibility of telling Martin Ling that his contract was being terminated. Nobody else was willing to take on the role. I bet in hindsight Thea wished she had not agreed to be chairman, especially after being left 'high and dry' with no support after Alex Rowe and the Boyce lads stepped down (I'd love to know the REAL reason why they decided to quit).

Rumour has it a major decision (which they did not agree with) was pushed through by Bill Phillips whilst AR was away on holiday. I know not what this was nor the accuracy of this but this was what was suggested at the time.

HAHAHAHA
If you think my comment(s) is/are childish, I dread to think what you make of others on this forum.
How much did we know before the press conference announcing the new consortium in 2007? Is the difference this time just that we were told negotiations had started? Were it not for the TUSTs involvement we would not be speculating at all now because we wouldn't know anything about it!

You've got some pessimism to be reading that between the lines!
Right now I think the best we can do - for our own sanity at least - is to read and take everything at face value.
Gary Johnson's Yellow Army! Yellow Army! Yellow Army!
