Stockley and Wilkinson up front. Epic. We could tell the opposition to leave their keeper at home and we could claim his match fee on return.
Two of the slowest moving objects on Earth. Neither have looked anything like scoring (aside from Stockley's single goal). Wilkinson presented with an open goal from 8 yards and missed by about 25. Stockley might, if he's lucky, have had two shots since he arrived.
I don't blame you for picking those two. All our forwards are Wheel Power standard, so it's Hobson's choice. Our only hope is recalling Sully and Yeoman and hoping that they're better than the shit we've already got. They couldn't be any worse, so we're not losing anything.

Matt.

Got to agree with you Matt. I think Wilkinson tries hard and I feel a bit of sympathy for him as he has been thrust in and he's a young lad but what we need if we are looking at loanees are players we can thrust in and they can make a difference and players who can offer us something different than we already have. Both offer neither. Stockley in particular looks atrocious.

Get Thommo in and get Yeoman in and hope. Alternatively get in more loanees as poor as we already have. I'd go for the first option.

Interestingly last time i looked Chappell is predominately right footed, why is it that he is always played on the left, causing him to stop and cut back. He could play against the slowest full back ever and still not beat him.
Its not just with us and Chaps, its everywhere nowadays, whats the point of it?

Wouldn't it be better to get him on the right so he can beat his man and provide crosses at pace.

No, you're not alone. I just don't rate him and plenty who stand near me, seem to be of the same opinion.

My team would be a 4-1-3-2 Bodin and Goodwin the strikers move O'Conner to midfield and get Craig back in midfield of three. Mansell will be out injured Pearce was limping after the game but it these players were available I would start with them.

POKE
TONGE
DOWNES
PEARCE
NICHOLSON
LATHROP
HARDING
O'CONNER this lad is good at running with the ball and would cause problems for the opposition.
always an option to move back during game.
CRAIG this club are waisting a good player.
Yeoman or any other it's sad. 1st choice BODIN
GOODWIN or Stockley

We need to win on Tuesday so why select Labadie (suspended) and Bodin (injured)? Both can't play.

Lathrope would start. Pearce would get the Captain's armband until Labadie returns. Harper would get a deal if he impressed me more than Mansell, which I'm reasonably convinced he would. I would consider a short term left back loan until Cooper is fit. Cruise as back up. Undecided on the Downes question as I can see why he was dropped. The bit about it that appeals most is that O'Connor would be at right back, not that Downes would replace him in the centre. I would most likely try and keep hold of Stockley and definitely try and keep Goodwin. O'Brien would return to Millwall. I would recall Craig at the first opportunity for a central midfield three option.

I would loan Mansell and Nicholson out to Gloucester and drive them there myself.

According to the feature on O'Connor in Saturday's programme he only chose to come to Torquay, amongst a number of clubs after him, because we guaranteed to play him in his favoured position, centre-half. That also was why Blackburn allowed him to join.

That may be so but if it's our league status on the line then sorry but for the sake of the team and assuming he would rather play than not at all, I think the time has come for him to be moved across to Right Back.

He was guilty of overplaying (not for the first time) on a few occasions on Saturday and whilst you want to encourage your centre halves to play out from the back .... there is a time and a place!

Looking back at the video of the Stanley goal on Saturday, I think both he and Mansell could have done better with O'Connor guilty of backing off and Mansell failing to make up ground and get a block on.

I agree Chris move O'Connor to right back and recall Downes. I was only quoting what I read in the programme.
See you Tuesday.

Get Chris to tell Craig to come back to Torquay first.
