Gloster sees the bigger picture. For all the good work and progress made towards digging us out of the usual borrow and spend Labour years, this weather could hamper recovery efforts to the tune of 12 months or more. The insurance industry will look to recover their losses and a chunk more besides, the tourist season will flatline, more small businesses will go to the wall.

Still there's bugger all we can do about it, just ride it out and hope for the best.

I can I ask you the same question Matt, because you seem to think your an expert on this subject as well, as you also seem to think, this awful weather rolls in across the south west push's on up the country and so how doesn't go anywhere near Exeter, they have been hit by record rainfall as well, same as us, yet again they play we don't.

Stop feeling the need to be so defensive, pull your head out of sand, we have a problem with our pitch, obviously Exeter don't as record rainfall in their history hasn't stopped them from playing, until we either purchase full pitch covers or fix our pitch these problems will continue. You can't argue it, evidence, fact, all the proof we need will happen at 3pm when the greeks kick-off.

What good work? The only recovery has been for the bankers and millionaires. Nobody else. For most it is even worse.

I agree with Mr. Taunton and have voted 'yes'. Of course, I would prefer Kingsmead as it's only half an hour away, but it seems to me that Home Park would be better than what we have now - which is nothing. In fact, I sympathise with Mr. Taunton: he suggested a reasonable solution and has been shot down in flames. I suspect that localism (which possesses exactly the same criteria for definition as racism) is raising its head here.

You've forgotten one very vital and important point Mr Wivel, Plymouth will NOT let us use their stadium for nothing, they would want rent, and would probably insist on a certain number of their staff being on duty at our cost, I wouldn't want our club lining their pockets, would you ?

One or two can flap their arms about all they like, giving the 'are you a qualified meteorologist' This is worst weather in the history of the U.K and it's actually only effected TQ1. The fact remains there is a problem with our pitch coupled with, yes of course the worst rainfall ever that's causing these postponements . The weather will turn, it will dry up, when it does the problem with our pitch will no longer effect our ability to host football match's, so no need to panic and start renting gnome park.

If our pitch is so much worse than Exeter's then how come we don't have loads of games in hand on them?

They had one called off whilst ours went ahead the other week.

Didn't say it was jerry. Let's look at some very simple facts, in fact, so simple, professor simple from the university of simple could understand them.

Torquay v Burton..OFF
Exeter v Oxford..ON (same day)

Torquay v Bury..OFF
Exeter v Portsmouth..ON (same day)

Just a few short miles up the road, with same weather, undisputable facts, evidence, proof, there is a problem with our pitch, that they don't have with theirs, no one can argue it , black and white, open and shut call it what you like.

That as far as I can see is their only postponement, adding further proof, that what I am saying is right.

My apologies. They had NYD postponed whilst we were at Argyle. I see they also had their U21 Cup quarter final match called off this Tuesday just gone.

Should imagine their U21 was of course to protect their pitch for todays game, were they home or away NYD.

They were supposed to be home to Wycombe. Just remember lots of moaning on the radio at the time from Exeter.

Thanks Rob, missed that one, but to be fair remember driving through the weather down to HP that day, don't think we would have been on if due to play at home that day.

You may be right there, Dave. As for the original suggestion of playing home games in Cornwall. Not for me. Never!
