Hopefully todays game will put off potential suitors.

We'll live.

They royally f*cked it up today, if that now means we have to sell one or two then so be it.

It might actually mean we play a proper right back who isn't clueless in posession of a football, it might mean we don't sacrifice the good of the team to play a formation to suit one player, and maybe Billy Kee or AN other can come in and replace Elliot.

We'll still be here, life will go on and if we get the right bids then good luck to them.

i doubt it. they have always been there for the 3 of them.

if we need the money expect any or all of them to be sold.

Pity we can't get rid of "poor&ineffectiveNickyWroe", but I suppose that that really is too much to hope for. He was at his worse again today, I don't know how Buckle kept him on for as long as he did, the man has the patience of a saint.
I think that P.B. may now realise that Wroe is keeping better players out of the team. Wroe was ok in the Conference, but not good enough for L2.

Don't agree with that to be honest. Your 'favourite player' was the worst player on the park by a street. i can only imagine the ref felt sorry for us as Buckle wouldn't take him off so he did it for us.

Wroe has had plenty of decent games this year, some bad some good like all of our players.

Yes, there were several players that under performed today & Zeb was certainly one of them, however he
was not as bad as "poor&ineffective"

i think he was too - agree with royal.

i like zebs, but he totally lost his discipline. he was the worst player by far.

as for mr wroe, he has had bad games - but he isnt on his own by a long way.

The next few days will be interesting, to see if our finances are ok, or if we need to cash in on someone now. From all reports of the bids we've received so far it doesn't look like any bids we get will be 'too good to turn down', so it will be a real test of our intentions.

My big fear is that we let Ellis/Benyon/O'Kane go in the next 6 months and can't replace them with the same quality. We're a mid-table side as it is, and don't have any hugely promising players to come through in the same way as those three did. Macklin is one possibility but he's got a long way to go, as has Rowe-Turner.

Who are 'they'? The formation was all wrong, and i'm not sure any of the players had a say in that.

It's fair to say that none of our better player performed today. But one poor perfromance doesn't make their possible departure any less damaging.

The players take responsibility for their own performance. We've played this system (rightly or wrongly) for the majority of this season. We've played well in games with it, we've played crap in games with it. To suddenely bemoan it as the reason we lost today is naieve and wrong.

The reason we lost is becase too many of our forward thinking players went missing. Zebroski, Stevens, Wroe, O'Kane and Benyon. Our five main attakcing threats, none of them had a better than a 5 or 6/10 performance today.

I would have liked to have seen Kee start the game because he's shown some form in his recent cameos and I thought we looked better once he came on, but sorry blaming a system is wrong. It wans't the system that meant our two centre halves watched a long punt fall to Tubbs. It wasn't the system that made Zebroski stick his hand out or Mansell trip the guy.

Players win games, Crawley's attacking players were better than ours. Close game not that many chances in it but we didn't really do enough today.

Tell me, was the system wrong against Walsall and Carlisle? Or did the players win in spite of it?

As i said before the game, i'm not a fan of 4-5-1 and never have been. If the wide players drop too deep, it's easy for the lone front-man to get isolated. And when that happens, it's impossible to maintain any kind of attacking intent. Benyon needs help. If he wastes all his energy chasing 4 defenders all over the pitch, his output isn't going to be great. I said yesterday i hoped we'd play 4-4-2, and that Kee would partner Benners up front. Neither Benners or O'Kane were as effective today, and Zebs was a disaster all afternoon, but a more attacking formation might just have paid dividends.

I'm playing a bit of Devil's advocate here because I felt the same after about 30mins, Benyon didn't get a kick through no fault of his own.

i don't blame Bucks for going that way, it's the way we've played over the last what 10 games? or so, we've played and won in the cup that way, but I always felt Crawley with their front players were more likely to score than we were, unless we got a free kcik or a corner.

i was happy to see Kee come on as early as he did, I would have been tempted to do it at half time but he brought him on after 53mins, we did better once he was on until Zebroski killed us. Bevan saved the day but like i said mate, just too many of our forward players had off days. We're not a team that can have 4-5 players having bad days. Especially when neither of our full backs really get beyond the half way line.

The only other thing I can think of why he may have reservations about Kee at the minute is fitness, when i've see him start he's nearly always blowing out of his arse after 40mins.

One things for certain we need additions. We desperately need a mobile target man, i'd love to see us add a more consistant winger to the club as well as a natural right back. Robbo is ok, a good defender but he is your typical centre back, clueless with the ball at his feet and offers zero threat down the right, which means Zebroski or whoever is playing wide right has no support when he's trying to create things.

We had a full house today, so other than possible TV money we made a fair amount out of today and the prize money for getting to the 4th round.

There must be a loan or someone we can get in that fits in our budget.

Again though it depends what we want to be this year. There's a chance for us to finish 6th/7th if we add. if we don't we'll finish somewhere near where we are now. Which is no disgrace at all but 3 right additions could make all the difference. Bucks is ambitious I'm sure he'll be talking to the powers that be.
