True Matt and it makes you think that EVERYTHING ON AND OFF THE PITCH has just conspired against us to the point where it has become ridiculous so far this season and if we signed Messi then something would still happen like he'd break his leg in the first minute or something. What the f*ck is happening?!!
Strangely enough it was Pope Gregory the 9th inviting me for drinks aboard his steam yacht, the saucy sue currently wintering in montego bay with the England cricket team and the Balanese Goddess of plenty.
Its not that though is it - what other team in our position would not have signed an emergency loan by now.
Not us though - our keeper isn't fit enough to train all week, won't be able to use his arms by all accounts but come Friday might be fit enough to play.
Instead all we get is a photo of six gurning directors, having changed the chairman, for the apparent reason being "that at least she has been in charge of a football league club" for three games.
Hate to say it but I would be gobsmacked if we beat Barnet - come ten to five on saturday it will be all over bar the shouting.

Certainly no logic in football how can Vale go from beating a promotion rival 7-1 to drawing against the bottom club !
Feckin bollocks. There does seem to be some kind of evil working against us. Vale beat us by a stupid deflection we hit the woodwork twice against the team at the top of the league.
Such small details make such a huge difference.
Why don't we get a scuffed shot winner or a last minute o.g ?????

And if they WIN that game in hand...?lucy6lucy wrote:End of the day, they haven't won. They can draw this and the other game in hand and will still be below us. We have to beat Barnet. It's still in our hands, presuming we beat barnet

What were some people saying 'I'd rather have points on the board than games in hand' ?????
Tonight's result is what happens when you have games in hand and determination, guts and the right attitude, shame we haven't got a just a piece !!

Remember when we won at Carlisle when Atkins was here? Was that 'luck'? Or did we work hard and dig out a superb, unexpected result, that we considered worthy of great credit? So why were Aldershot 'lucky' tonight?Dutchgull wrote:Certainly no logic in football how can Vale go from beating a promotion rival 7-1 to drawing against the bottom club !

This result just confirms what we all know, staying in League 2 is in our own hands. We can't rely on other teams we have to find some form starting on Saturday against Barnet.
Stop Davids and we could have a chance, especially his short corner routine.
I hope Knill has a plan.

I've got to say Brucie, that when you put everything together this season and all the comedy bizarreness like the scenarios above it pretty much looks like relegation is a dead cert. It's the blind leading the blind and i'm STILL waiting for someone with some b*llocks to come out with a statement or a speech or a rallying call or an idea, anything! Some inspiration from someones mouth instead of constant irrelevant bullsh*t. Does ANYBODY at the club actually realize that IF we lose on saturday then it is probable that we will be a non league club next year? It wouldn't surprise me one bit to discover that they are oblivious to this, like the Venkys who didn't think there was any relegation from the Prem. The lack of anything going forward from the club, the lack of any attempts at galvanising the people of the bay, the fans, the players is mindblowing. I don't know if anyone has watched Gordon Ramsays Kitchen Nightmares but he is an example of what i want to be seeing now from the people upstairs. Ok so it's a bit put on for the cameras but he identifies problems, comes up with solutions or attempts at tackling them and gets the message across in a forceful and direct manner which motivates others. We need energy, vibrancy, resilience but instead we get lethargy, silence and weakness. The whole thing is an absolute disgrace from beginning to end and some of these people in charge at TUFC embarrass me quite frankly. We are saying goodbye to the football league with an absolute whimper because it's rotten from the top.brucie wrote:Its not that though is it - what other team in our position would not have signed an emergency loan by now.

I am not saying that Aldershot were lucky tonight but that certainly as I have stated above things which could so easily have gone for us have not.
Did Port Vale look that good at Plainmoor ? I think not. At Gillingham If Howes shot had hit the inside and gone in. if Nichos free kick was a couple of inches lower we could have done the double over them . All I am saying is on such close details seasons can be decided. Aldershots late winner against Oxford was a gift from Oxfords defence. All am saying is we have not had much luck this season. Or can anybody think of games where we did have things going our way ? The only one I could possibly think of is ironically Nichos late goal against the Gills ! And is still their only away defeat this year ...and they are not that good !!!
So bloody frustrating.................

And you don't think for a second it's reasonable to assume all the other clubs at the foot of the table have a similar tale of woe? Why would we assume we're the only team to have encountered bad luck?
If we go down, we'll deserve it. Because over the course of the season we haven't been good enough to accumulate enough points to stay up. I've seen virtually every home game this season, and 'unlucky' is not the word I'd use to describe us.

Ok mate I give up are we are feckin shit we dont even deserve to be in the south devon league. Happy now ??
I have hardly missed a game for over forty years and I know we have not been good this year but far from some of the shit I have witnessed over that time.
All I am trying to say is the margins between success and failure are not always that wide. Can anybody read and understand that point or am I writing in DUTCH

No, I'm not 'happy'. I'm anything but, happy - just like everyone else who watches us every week. But we have to get out of this mentality that our problems are all down to bad luck. I get the impression even those at the club have convinced themselves we're somehow 'too good to go down'. I hope it's not too late for them to realise they're wrong!Dutchgull wrote:Ok mate I give up are we are feckin sh*t we dont even deserve to be in the south devon league. Happy now ??
