His worth ethic is first class, and now he's regained match-fitness he looks like the old Benyon. Just kept running and running, and his goals were fantastic. Well done Benners!
that was his one issue - and not really down to him - more down to southend not playing him.

delighted for him. sounded like a great performance.

Yep sign him please, fox in the box poacher we were missing. Could not believe some f the posts I read across the tu forums, some suggested he was a rubbish player only signed to please the popside morons, well to those I say, his goals over these last few games kept us up, so as said above what you say now.

Agree with you on this one Dave. Usually I say never go back but Benners has been just what we needed. Yes, if he wants to come then we should sign him up pronto!! :) :) :)

He's scored 4 goals from 12 starts plus subs. That's a good return in a team struggling for goals. Since he's been up to the pace of the games he's been adding value to the team. We love players who give everything on the pitch. I agree - sign him.

And in fairness to him, it took half of those games to get some semblance of fitness.

Why is it that these bloody things always seem to happen when we're 'between managers'? FFS.........

Wonder if the board would ever see fit to step in and sign him? Can't see it being very likely but we dont want to miss this opportunity!!

I believe he would like to return.....but maybe his wages could be a stumbling block.

He's out of contract Vinny... it's simple demand and supply. If he wants more per week than we think he's worth, we'll move along.

I cant see any club paying him more than we'd be able to afford, based on him doing very little in the last two years. I think if we offered him something, he'd jump at the opportunity. I also think it depends on who is manager. If its Sturrock, as has been touted, I doubt he'd want him, based on their time at Southend. If its Knill, as seems likely, then he probably would want him, based on his performances here.

Sign him up!

His work ethic is just incredible, he's a crowd favourite, he scores goals and earns penalties, aside from wage issues what's not to like?

(and if Howe goes he can have his number 9 back and we can have our song back!)
