Go on HG, p*ss us off even more and tell us that the sun is blazing and it's 30 degrees over there. :na: [/quote]

Umm...sorry Andy, but....Yup. Just come off 11 days straight of over 30 degrees. BUT, please can we have some of your rain? Drier than a packet of crisps over here. :)

Ah yes SG, That was in Melbourne. The sun never shines in Melbourne. In fact, serves them bloody right. They stole the grand prix from us (Adelaide).

As a side note, I keep getting adverts for Red Diesel now. Surely that can't be legal to advertise to the public?!

Thought of this topic this morning when I was in Bristol in an expensive Londis / Shell petrol station still at 138.9p a litre. As I walked in they had a big sign up saying "The real cost of your fuel 60% is taxed and 40% is petrol price". I left and began my journey home and the next petrol station I saw was Asda at 134p a litre - I was ripped off, gutted.

The biggest rip with all fuel is the fact that a large % of it is 'duty' (lets call a spade a spade-its tax!) THEN THEY ADD VAT FFS!
In other words, they tax the tax we are already paying.
Makes my p1ss boil. :@

As a side issue, Road Tax and Council Tax.

If our council tax is in part to pay for the upkeep of roads in the area and street lighting etc then what do we pay road tax for?

Serious question as i genuinely do not know the answer, i just find it a bit odd if we are paying twice for the same things effectively.
