Just got rid of my entire telly package. Full of banal cacky repeats. I need to nourish my mind, not kill it ( when is Bargain Hunt on again anyway? )

I'll make do with the freebie channels, they're full of free sh*t.

I don't see how Sky continues to function and prosper. I can stream any match (of anything) I like, which means I watch the matches I want to watch, not what Rupert Murdoch will most profit from. I can download anything else I want to see, and what's left is on terrestrial as it is.

I understand that Israel have league matches on Christmas Day, i know it's football overkill but can't i get a stream so i can watch that instead of a parasite talking to her 'subjects'? Also is there an Israeli night game so i can be spared the soaps and repeats of Dads Army and sh*t?

I think it was, but Richardson bought it. I stand with a couple of hoteliers, one of whom (Gazza) has a son (Adam, ginger guy, early 20s, knocks about with the "singers", nice chap) who works at The Grand. I seem to recall Gazza mentioning that this was the case.

Cheers Matt. I generally hate reality type programmes but i love this AND it's based in Torquay! I am still staggered to believe that a man with such a catastrophic grasp of business managed to acquire and run 3 hotels! Madness. Lovely bloke but hasn't got a 4 by 2.

The Hotel is awesome. But not because it's good. It's so cringey to watch you have to watch.

It's like a mix between 'The office' and Fawlty Towers but it's all real life!

Agree Steve, it's a good watch and i like Mark, he's like a cross between Alan Partridge, Basil Fawlty and David Brent! Makes you wonder though why he would allow TV cameras in to film his struggling business? They say any exposure is good exposure but who would want to stay there after seeing how bad it is? Some of the holidaymakers look as rough as arseholes too! It makes me laugh when Mark talks about attracting a higher class of clientele and the people who would pay more. The fact that he cannot work out why he hasn't managed to do this already is hilarious!

I think you can see even by this series why he wants to be on TV. I'm certain a lot of the people that go there know it is being filmed and just want their 15 minutes of fame by kicking up some fuss. Although, obiviously, sometimes there is ample reason to complain - like the kitkat fiasco.

I think the TV companies have missed a trick here.

There seems to be a recent outpouring of spooky, tense, dark, scary and upsetting dramas with similar one word, two syllable titles.

Marchlands, Lightfields and now Broadchurch.

I've got one for them that purely encapsulates all the adjectives above and more, a true place of unbridled horror and remorseless desperation................................PLAINMOOR

Eurovision, i don't know what's worse. Me watching it or it actually being allowed onto our tv screens without censorship of naff, cringeworthy banal crap! Mind you, i've just seen the Finnish entry so i might carry on watching if it's all the same....

I'm being forced to watch it by the Mrs as well. Hence why I'm on here doing maintenance :P

its really from one extreme to the other on telly tonight after an unbelievably awesome episode of DOCTOR WHO we then have bloody eurovision all night of which to coin an esteemed posters phrase "i'd rather stick needles in my bellend mate". britains got talent has been sh!te this year and is a borefest. what on earth has happened to simon cowells face. looks like he's had an allergic reaction or something and its swelled up out of proportion with the rest of him

saying that, christ the lads just flicked over to bbc1 and the bird from belarus on eurovision is well tasty, crikey.
