Hope this is true and it indeed comes off. It would be a good signing and, as someone suggested, give greater cause for optimisim.
As for Alex Russell, one wonders if that would have been sorted by now. The fact it was made public left me hopeful it was going to happen but you would think that if was going to, they would have sorted it by now.
Easton and Saah, I think would be pretty decent replacements for Stanley and Branston.
Let's hope that all these fingers in all these pies will come off as it does seem to be taking some time to sign one player let alone the 8 we were told were needed.

To be fair, Hector, Ling has said to expect 3 signings by the end of the week.

The three were a Keeper, Right back and Centre back.
if you add Russell (player/coach) and maybe Easton that would be 5. Even 6 if you count Oastler.
Maybe im abit ambitious but would certainly give Ling a few brownie points.
Just a thought, wouldnt O'kane, Mansell, Lathrope, Easton, Russell and Oastler be to much centre midfield to have.
Also the Prem right back wouldnt be Oastler would it? Being QPR got promoted then they released him? And hes now in line to be playing at the back.

(Just a thought as the club said back along we would sign a championship striker then we got rendell, when he was never a championship striker just on loan form there. Could be the same as Oastler being from QPR)

Unless you see Oastler as a right-back and O'Kane as a winger. I really would be disappointed if that were the case (O'Kane as a winger, not so much Oastler at the back)

4-4-1-1 with Zedders out wide and Eunan behind a lone Billy Kee? This allows Manse, Zedders, JOastler, Easton and Russell to all be on the same pitch at the same time.
Lathrope, for me, is a nice enough player, nothing against him at all, but he is little more than a Manse-u-like, so chop and change as you see fit.
Matt.

Well unless you know something I don't (which I hope you do!) a recent interview by Ling indercated he could not take Russell on because his central midfield options were already sorted.

Oh, bugger, ok. I probably know loads that you don't, unfortunately, none of it is about Torquay.
Perhaps we could ship out one or two in favour then? Perhaps Lathrope out for Easton in?
Matt.

Would be a stupid move if we did that, Damon is a good player and has a lot of protential.

I'm content with tufcbretts team^ that it would achieve a decent placing but look at the bench!
Forward quality - required!

I would think that we still need:
GK
LM
RM
Striker
GK is an obvious one.
I say we need two wingers
1) Because I don't think Danny Stevens is the answer, yes I would let him have a chance to see what he can do now Ling has had a word with him, but if that has not worked and he is not performing he needs to be replaced.
2) I would prefer O'Kane in the middle of the park. Ever since he has been put into that position he has performed to the best of his ability so I think Ling needs to play him there.
A striker is also another obvious requirement. So we have a comfortable striking selection.

I don't doubt that he is, but potential, as Arsene Wenger will testify, counts for absolutely nothing unless it is fulfilled. I don't doubt that he is talented, but he is no Craig Easton.

I really dont agree with you, not that it will matter as i really cant see us signing Easton anyways.
But i really think Damon has the tallent to do really well for us this season. Everytime i seen him play last season i really saw he can handle himself. Just needed a good run ouf games. He is good enough now, and has the proential to go higher than league 2.
