B.Rovers losing, Northampton losing, Wycombe and Accrington drawing, Exeter losing (slowly but surely being dragged into it!)

We beat Northampton on Tues. and things stay as they are,,,,,,league likes quiet a different picture from a TQY viewpoint with games in hand!!!

My point is that if the pitch was unplayable at 9am, and the forecast was for torrential rain, then what sensible human being, let alone a football league referee, thought the pitch would be ready for a game 3 hours later?

Without being privy to the decision making process, how can we be so certain the ref is to blame? It appears we always have an excuse, it's always someone else's fault. It's not in the refs interest to unnecessarily delay a postponement decision. Why would he do that? For giggles?

After that 9am inspection the ref decided the pitch was either a) playable - and he wanted a further check at 12 (bearing in mind the incoming weather). Or b) unplayable - but with sufficient chance of improvement in the following 3 hours.

Whichever way you look at it, the game was in the balance, and yet again the failure of the pitch to drain in the expected manner has caused another Saturday off. It is not the refs fault.

My info is that the ref was adamant that the game would be off at 9am - so quite why he left it till midday is quite beyond me.

Put under pressure by one, or both clubs ?

looking at the league 2 forum, it appears that the Northampton game may have been saved, like Yeovil's by having full waterproof pitch covers, maybe others as well, this to me is a most for our club now.

At 15k, something a flourishing trust could assist with. Anything left in them coffers, does anyone know?

To be fair, Tully's wage will come out of the ring-fenced youth money from FL. Pitch cover is just the sort of thing a Trust can assist with. I know it was going into hibernation or something, but am guessing it is still getting a few quid from direct debits in its dormancy.

Fair enough Rob, it was a bit facetious. I'm sure in the grand scheme of things, it'd be £15k very well spent. Ironically, the postponed matches probably mean our cash-flow couldn't support such a purchase now! But yes, great use if trust funds if there are any.

OK not as good as it could have been with Rovers getting a late goal and even more painful Exeter a 94th minute goal in a 95 minute game! But hey ho move on next up Northampton! AK your in for soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much sh1t.

No worries, Shane. Looking at the table now a nice win on Tuesday putting us above Rovers and Wycombe would do nicely. Is someone going to put up a Northampton ON/OFF thread?

I made my choice not to travel last night, but a few have set off this morning expecting to see a football match, naively maybe.

The game should've been scrubbed last night at the latest for me, but as usual football fans as CUSTOMERS mean nothing at all.

You're talking bollocks. The forecast was for showers not torrential rain, and with the drying effect of the sun and above average winds there was still a possibility (from the perspective of the 9am inspection) that the game could be on. The ref had no choice in those circumstances but to have another inspection at midday. Oh, and 9am to 3pm is 6 hours not 3..

sorry bfc but not the clubs fault, blame the ref if you want to blame anyone, ive travelled several times over the years and have had to travel hundreds of mile only to be told game off, its a sad fact of football im afraid.
