I think if Knill can use Niall this season and play him in attacking role with support then it could aid his development and also he could be like having a new signing. I know he is a young lad and he struggled a bit in a defensive struggling team last season but he's frighteningly quick and direct and at this level that is a devastating combination.

That's good to hear R/R. However I would say some of those are going to be loan signings as I can not see the club being able to sign 7 permanently.

York have made Rene a "very good offer" according to Worthington but will not be impressed with "a long drawn out period of consideration "from Howe, according to the WMN.Howe back from holiday this weekend.
Could be a Jarvis/Howe strike force at Bootham Crescent next season then!

If he takes it then it would indicate he has given up on his career which wouldn't be good news if you're a York fan. Ok so he may get a few extra quid up there but York are no bigger, no better and although it's a beautiful city, it is no nicer than what Devon has to offer. He's just looking for a few extra quid so he can take it easy again for a few more years I reckon.

I think York might spring a surprise this season.

I think the surprise is that, after their fans were bleating on last season that if they got relegated they'd go out of business, they've suddenly got money to burn.

They've signed Jarvis and might sign Howe. I hardly think they'll be taking the league by storm if both were regulars. They would also need a reliable back up striker for when Howe serves his obligatory suspensions.

Haven't they also signed Wes Fletcher and Bowman? surely they won't sign Howe as well. Although i can see Howe choosing York easily over us and Argyle since their closer to his Northern home.

I hate this thread constantly popping up, but Rene just said on twitter that he will have signed for a club by presumably the start of pre-season.

According to a tweet, yesterday, he is off on another foreign holiday. Going to Italy for 2 weeks.
Update. Just had a quick look at twitter. He (as of 1 hour ago 12.45) is now IN Italy.

Reckon he must have already agreed a deal somewhere. (Inter, AC ??) :O
