Personally I would like to see us wise up a bit and indulge in a spot of cheating ourselves. Everyone else seems to benefit from it so we might as well do the same.

A few years ago i would have disagreed with you Brucie and said that under no circumstances should we sink to that level. Nowadays it just seems part and parcel of football at ALL levels and no matter how much i or anyone abhorrs it, there ain't no getting rid of it. Until the footballing authorities start dishing out severe retrospective penalties for players found guilty of cheating then we just have to get on with it. This is never going to happen in a million years because it makes sense and sense is something that most football administrators were born without.

So we have to crack on, accept it as part of the game and get our players to start gaining unfair advantages so that we may compete on a level playing field with everyone else. I think many of us are guilty of hypocrisy as indeed are all football managers. When a player from the opposition dives to win a penalty, the opposing manager and fans are up in arms about the injustice UNTIL the situation happens in favour of THEIR team and then cheating is somehow conveniently forgotten. I recall at Bradford saying to Ben about Pokey taking an eternity to take his goal kicks, we gave the Wycombe keeper some real hammer earlier on this season for timewasting and the other keeper that sticks in my mind is the former Macc keeper Jose Veiga who used to timewaste constantly even when they weren't even winning! WEIRD! We weren't booing Pokey on saturday and encouraging him to get on with the game because it suited us to waste time.

I just think we should accept it now as it isn't going away and like Brucie says, get our players to wise up a little and get some joy from cheating. It's a sad, sad state of affairs but as nobody is taking responsibility to eradicate it then it will continue to flourish.

I agree with Brucie and Andy, if you can't beat em join em.

Re the red card, I had another look at the video. When I look at the Bradford player getting treated after the incident, he is rubbing the left hand side of his head. If Saah's elbow connected with him at all (which I doubt) it was on the right side of his head. Just a thought.

Brian Saah has proved himself to be an excellent asset for the Gulls, but I can't believe that he still believes, as reported in the local paper, that he should not have been sent off, even after seeing the video evidence.

He should rid himself of excuses and arrogant hubris and recognise that he cannot push one player in the face and then elbow another. He knew the other player was there (the man was standing on Saah's foot) and he had no excuse. The game is called football, and using your arms in a reckless and aggressive manner is bound to catch up with you.

If Saah cannot learn that lesson, he is going to lose the Gulls a few more points. But I do believe he is man enough to learn, put the incident behind him, and to progress even further as a player. Onwards and upwards..

Hmm.. them beating the Arse sort of makes our defeat seem not so bad..
