Correct. Steve Breed took a lower paid job on to do what he could to help get the club on a sound financial footing. He succeeded despite the inaction of the previous chairman in addressing the wrongful dismissal caae and then the deplorable actions of Edwards. He let go of the reigns of his own business to take the job and did so much to lay the ground for future stability and in my opinion deserves great credit.

To claim Phillips and Breed were in it for their own gains is way out of order.
They walked in to a mess and they left (If they have) with the Club on an upward curve.

Whilst I am not convinced the prospective new owners are what we need, looking back to last June/July, we should all be grateful that Steve and David saved the Club when we were staring down the barrel.

They go with my thanks and many more.............no Chairman at TUFC or any other Club has always made the decisions that the fans necessarily want, especially when it comes to choosing Managers and Coaches.

Good luck to them both.

This all smells fishy to me. I can't help thinking that Steve Breed leaving has something to do with Mr Harrop taking over that particular role. I'm not sure that Nicho will be happy with that as he won't want any interference with regard to who he brings in and anything else to do with the playing side of things. So perhaps this is the new owners way of getting rid od Nicho, offer him a relatively poor contract with Harrop above him.

Interesting to see what everyone thinks of this ?

Nothing fishy about it flipper, new regime will always bring in their own people, as did Alex Rowe in the buckle era, Colin lee came in then, things will always change weather its for the better or not, also we dont know if harrop will be any good or know , but we will have to go with it and hope things turnout for the good. One thing i do know harrop knows a thing or two about youth football and has plenty of contacts.

Youth football maybe but first team affairs is a little bit different. The thing is the budget apparently is going to the same as last year and Steve Breed wasn't taking a massive wage. Harrop isn't going to come in for peanuts. that's money that could have been used for players. As for the youth team, money will have to be found for that unless it's just a youth team and they don't players on a scholarship basis.
I would be surprised if Nicho accepts an offer to stay on with Harrop as the CEO but you never know. Can't help thinking he is on a hiding to nothing here and the lure of another club with a decent playing budget allied to a decent contract sees him elsewhere next season.
Many of the players are free agents and may well have already been talking to other clubs already so he would have to start from scratch, almost, with next to no money.
I don't see what Harrop will bring to the table to make things better.

You state the budget is APPARENTLY the same as this year, the truth is we don't know until the takeover concludes. For now it's a waiting games, with today being a bank holiday we may be taken over Tuesday

As much as I'd like to see Steve Breed continue to be CEO, it's entirely to be expected that new owners would want to install their own guy in the role. There's nothing fishy about it though, as I say, it would be great for Steve to stay onboard. Sadly, it appears that he has already departed.

sorry flipper, got to disagree, nobody really knows the budget ,we are going by hearsay here, also why do people think that kevin wont work with him, i think we are getting are knickers in a twist here before knowing the facts and as said before what are we supposed to do , this club has no money and probably wouldnt have survived for much longer. the fact is we need fresh blood and it looks like we have it. also do we know how much steve breed was earning? i doubt we do or will.

Okay Lucy, lets wait but don't be surprised when the budget is announced. Perhaps "apparently" wasn't the right word to use.

Fine to disagree, that's what the forum is for. Everyone is entitled to contribute.
Not hearsay but from a reliable source and not quite sure that a club of our size needs a CEO. Is it money well spent ? But you are right about not knowing what Steve was earning .

I'd back Flipper 100% and the budget is known despite some people choosing to believe differently.
