None of this new-fangled black and white nonsense, how about going properly back to our roots with a light blue shirt / dark blue shorts combo as we wore in 1901?

The words 'yellow army' spring to mind! Nice idea for the away kit.

I wish we'd go back to black/white stripes for our away shirts and use them as our official away colours. I think those colours combined in stripes always looks really smart, Newcastle United's home shirts always look good.

We had it a few years ago now, I've got one somewhere with a tiny bit of yellow trim - quite smart I think.
Having said that I was a fan of the white away shirt from last year - collared I think.

Bloody hell, looking at the 1910-11 kit, we could have become Aston Villa................how embarrassing would that be.

I've got that black and white striped away one. I would be pleased to see that as our away colours, nice nod to the past, or some sort of all navy and light blue trim, havent we had one like that recently. Not surprsed to say I have had quite a few away kits down the years but only twice have I had a home kit, 89-90 when I was a kid and didnt know better (whole kit, socks were virtually sodding orange, and the 97-98 season which was a bit heavy on the blue but it wasnt bad. I did buy the 07-09 one at a car boot last summer for a quid, just for its historical signifance, other than that its a boring shirt and a rubbish colour.

Through ebay I've accumulated a load of shirts, home and away, smart and shocking. This blue and white striped away kit

If you wanted to go back to kit no.1 (1899 a friendly at Cricketfield Road) I think that was red and white hoops - anyhow we have had a gold and blue kit since 1954-55 season - 60 years. That is our colours and we should stick to them. Yellow/gold shirts with blue shorts and blue and yellow socks. I am really cheesed off with the club changing colours for away games. It is one of the several things that have a negative impact on my matchday experience (add diving, feigning injury, anal stewarding). It seems every away team plays in black. I know I am a stegosauras but my view is you can change your women in life but not your football team or their colours.

Bottom of the Premier League as opposed to bottom of the Conference? We must be in dream land down here with our lack of exposure!

Not against, bit like Palace/Southampton kits from a few years back... But chuck in the sponsorship on the front and it will take up 1/3rd of your slanted stripe :/

If the sponsors could be persuaded to have their name within the white centre of the sash it could look really good. i like it.

This is one I did a few years back (hence 'Benyon' on the shirt). Still like it though!

I like the current design/colourway but with stripes not hoops! Similar to the kit from the late 90's.
