Actually he is not. I happen to know him. He supports Grimsby Town and attended the Boreham Wood game in support of our club and is a genuine football man. He also wrote the piece on our situation that was discussed in another thread, which I can't be bothered to find. I don't think Rich has anything to do with the others and is merely concerned by our plight and the worry that many clubs are not far from our position. My TUFC credentials are impeccable by the way. ;-)

Evening!

Yeah, I don't want to lose United, I like having a team nearby, I like going to watch football (although the game last Tuesday tested me) and I think South Devon will be worse off without a progressional football club.

I wish I could be as optimistic about the finances as others on here though. Unless gates go up quickly the club looks likely it will have to start cutting costs to break even. I'm basing it on the statements the chairman gave. There's no way they'd have made that statement right after the Guiseley game unless things were looking bad.

And yes, I wrote some stuff about Torquay last week. I'll post it here if anybody wants to read it. I'm dropping a line to my MP right now to ask why George Osborne is giving £3m to Chinese football (which doesn't need it - he's greasing palms to get their investment in HS2 and power stations). That money would prop up every team in the conference and probably league 2 also.

Does writing that stuff help? 2000 people read it on Tuesday and Wednesday last week and I got a load of messages, tweets, etc from fans of Torquay and other clubs, all worried about the state of things and how it seemed to be unravelling so quickly. Did it make a difference? I hope so. A lot said they'd be coming along to the Borehamwood game. I got a message earlier today from a guy who said he'd read it and was organising a meeting in Tiverton tonight to arrange for a couple of days out at Plainmoor to catch a game and put money into the coffers. Your bar takings will go up for sure.

I think DingDong was referring to this Yells character rather than Richy.

On the day that we have made probably the most controversial managerial appointment in our history all he wants to talk about is some way of getting to see the clubs balance sheet. Make of that what you will...

It could be that as a fan he's wondering how it's got in such a mess so quickly. Don't you wonder too? Some of the decisions have been ridiculous for a club short of cash.

If it was my club i'd want to know. If I had a season ticket I'd want to know if I was going to see the fixtures honoured. That sort of thing?

What I'm saying is that we shouldn't presume that there's an ulterior motive to wanting to know how bad things might be.

Maybe a statement by the club to put it out in the open - weekly income vs outgoings & how a drop of 200 fans can affect their being solvent would put the wind up stay-away fans and make them see that waiting 'til the football improves could see them without a club to come back to.

We talk about no money, in debt etc and now as you put "the most controversial managerial appointment in our history" are we sleepwalking into the Abyss, hopefully not all I am asking is a current Statement of Affairs which should look pretty good (but needs to be confirmed). This would give us all comfort and I believe stop the debt crisis talks and let us get on with on pitch matters. In the alternative if we are in deep trouble because of what has gone on post Thea then lets deal with it whilst we still can. No agenda here folks just a genuine concern :rules: :rules: :rules:

If you're that concerned why weren't you on here last season asking Bill Phillips why he was spending so much of Thea's money and frittering it away on to give one example, 2 portacabins that weren't even subject to a lease agreement and were costing us top dollar.

Save your false concern and take your bullshit agenda elsewhere.

I believe the difference is that Thea could afford to cover the cost of Bill Philips (and the Board) decisions rightly or wrongly at that time and paid for it by writing off her loan. You bring up another liability in the form of 2 Portacabins which is news to me. Items like these will be accounted for in the Statement of Affairs. Your abuse should be given a :red: Incidentally why on earth would you commit to a long term Lease Agreement on 2 Portacabins? :rules: :rules: :rules:

"Yells" - open up your email account, type the follow email address into the "to" section: [email protected] and then type the following in the main body:

Dear Sirs,

With all the changes in Shareholding, Directors, Managers, Staff over the past few months in both Plainmoor and Torquay Companies together with the decisions being made by the current Board of Directors it would be prudent to have a Statement of Affairs produce for before handover to Bill Phillips and the Board and the Current Board.

I would imagine the Balance sheet would look good (even taking into account the trading loses) because I understand Thea wrote of all of her loans and well as the other Directors at that time. The Cash position again should be positive because of the cash injection of the Current Board.
If this is published at least we as Supporters could form a judgement on the decisions made and being made for example putting Hargreaves and Hodges on Garden Leave and employing Cox, employing Dean Edwards as Director of Football, closing the Youth Academy will prove to be correct.

Kind regards,

I'm sure that you will then get some sort of response.

Or is this too difficult for you to do? Would you rather just bang on about it here instead?

or Dear Sirs, we appreciate that you were the only people to come up with some dosh to save our beloved Club from imminent closure. We appreciate that you have had a lot to do that has necessitated most of you putting many many hours in to sorting out the immediate chaos; but we're nosey little oiks, & we want you to stop doing whatever important thing it is that you were going to do today to try & keep our club solvent & to sit down & do an immediate balance sheet so that we can pick it to pieces & further try to discredit you to the people of Torbay. We want to know this long before any official bodies like the Inland Revenue require you to do this.
And, by the way, it's not only the Sirs; we have ladies running this Club as well these days.

Have a little patience people, this Club is going to take a while to sort out.
We'll Be Back ! TTID

The attitude on here is a little odd. Why wouldn't you want to know what the situation is? After the previous few years, don't you want to know if your club is either on the verge of administration or in fact everything is okay?

I get that you want to be supportive of the board but don't you want to know that they're running things right and making the right decisions? (Youth academy, gardening leave, paying a director or football, etc)

Surely all fans opinions are valid and it's possible someone can be a supporter without posting here for years? I've supported Grimsby all my life but steer clear of our message board as its full of nutters and flat-earthers.

At times like this I'd have thought welcoming in as many TUFC fans as possible would be a priority. Fans of other clubs are shelling out to support the gulls so don't drive away your own fans

This not an unusual request lots of Clubs post their accounts on line http://www.suttonunited.net/info_accounts.html to name just one. If you go to page 3 of the May 2014 account you will see Net Assets of 5878. I predict TUFC Balance Sheet if done now will be one of the best in the National League. Good News and Results means more Supporters at Matches.

I have no business experience. I am not a millionaire. Seeing the books will do nothing for me and mean nothing to me. All it will do is give the usual negative busy bodies an opportunity to be more negative and put more digs in to the club.

Accounts will be produced within the timeframe required by the usual laws and regulations.
Meanwhile, the chairman and chief exec have stated that the club is not about to go into administration.

Given that they have issued that statement, if people don't believe that, why would they suddenly then also believe a "statement of affairs".

Personally, I'd rather they got on with the pressing issues surrounding the club at the moment, instead of spending time on things like this.

The clubs accounts are published on Companies House.

They are produced as and when required by law. Why should the Board waste valuable time produced ad-hoc stuff like this when there are more pressing issues?
