I think he has made the right decision. He probably asked about whether he would get another contract and if it was indicated that it was unlikely then who would play those odds? If he is settled in the area with his wife to be then 100% the right choice.

He's going back home, not staying around here

Yep, it seems that he is indeed quitting football and living down here to return to Poole and become a car salesman.

With the right sort of personality, which it seems he has, he could well earn considerably more doing that than he could ever have done playing second string for us that's for sure. In fact, let's face it, if he only ended up earning what he is here selling cars he would soon be shown the door as it would mean he probably hasn't sold any!

Interesting that he handed his notice in a month ago as that would coincide pretty well with the time that he was dropped after the Altrincham away defeat and Ricey was restored to the team for the Hemel Hempstead Trophy game. I imagine that was perhaps another factor in him making his mind up.

Anyway, good luck to him.

Tbh, I was at the Altrincham match and their 1st goal was even more bizarre than Telford scoring there 3rd(if you was there or saw the goal you know what I mean). It just looped over seabright and he was on the line. Altrincham's 2nd could have been saved, he just stood still. So upon reflection he has made the right decision. Another interesting scenario, could he be planning to play for Poole under Harry redknapp????

Good luck to him. A bit of a shame as I thought he looked like a promising young lad a times and certainly a reasonable reserve option.

From his point of view, I understand it. You only get one life and he doesn't want to waste it sat on the bench. Quite how the life of an Estate Agent is a step up is beyond me, but each to their own! A sensible decision, made with the head and not the heart. As someone else said, you've got to admire him for spending his day off learning another trade. I dread to think what the rest of the squad are up to.
