Yes - this sums him up - neither outstanding nor a rubbish player. Obviously, he played in a struggling side when he was at Plainmoor so that didn't help him. He gave 100% when he played (unlike several of our permanent players last season) and he was here with Lee Mansell so I imagine Lee put in a word for him. Wakefield is rubbish - not as good as Mansell or the clodhopper you have in midfield. An odd signing for you.

I would call it a last minute desperation signing Brucie. We have two central midfielders both out injured for a month leaving only Mansell. Thanks for all your inputs on the subject,if he is anything like most of the loans we have made this season he will spend three out of the four saturdays sat on the bench. I totally disagree with the loan system as it stands, can't see the point of loaning players and then not playing them when we have our own young players who could warm the bench.

You're mixing up your seasons, Tomo. Wakefield was with us earlier this season - he has never played with Mansell. As other posters have said, he was fairly anonymous when he did play, although his chances were limited as he was with us during our six-match winning run and so struggled to force his way into the team.

Didn't realise that you had anyone out injured - he seriously didn't show anything when he was with us so he will probably end doing brilliantly for you.

From memory I think he was supposed to be a player in a similar vein to Luke Young, hence why he didn't get much game time.

Brucie , Hope he does but I feel this is a desperation signing on the last day of the window because we have both Stuart Sinclair and His cover Ollie Clarke out injured for at least 3 more weeks and they are joined by new signing Jermaine Easter for 4 weeks. To be fair compared to the last 3 years we have had a pretty injury free season up to now but they have all come at once.
Sometimes players just click with one club and in the same way some players don't click with a club. I think Rene Howe was a good example of this. He was brilliant for you but did very little before and very little since leaving you.
Will just have to wait and see but I hope he gets some game time and not sat on the bench for weeks like some of our loan players.

I cant remember half the players that have played for us, and to be honest that's not good. The fans don't build any rapport with the team if it changes all the time, AND this is another reason why fan numbers fall.

Have to disagree with that. Of course we all want results to be better, but what more could anybody expect? CH is in his first management job with a zero budget for signing new players and still lumbered with the remnants and effects of previous regimes. He has had to search around for free transfers, bringing in young players hungry to advance their careers, some of whom will improve and do brilliantly, others who will fall by the wayside. That's football.

We are still in with an outside chance of the play-offs assuming we go on an unlikely run of good form, and we are in the semi-finals of a national cup competition. With the work Thea Bristow is initiating behind the scenes and a little more freedom for CH to strengthen the squad next summer, there's every reason to look forward to next season with optimism, and even to an exciting end to this season with the possibilities that remain.

By all means consider how we might improve and advance, but above all be positive. Negativity is a self-defeating attitude.

Saturdays result could have been the Icing on the cake after cementing a playoff place. However it will most likely become the paracetomol required for a severe headache!
