No thats fair comment but did Baker really want to be chairman. Say what you like about him but at least he had the balls to step forward and have a go.
Thea may have had the job thrust on her perhaps but she was wheeled in front of the tv cameras during the Ling fiasco - it wasn't her fault that she wasn't good at that. Where was Rowe? hiding in the toilet perhaps.
I have no idea what has happen to cause the directors to resign - all I am saying is starting a "petition" showing our support seems pretty stupid to me when we havn't really got any idea why they went in the first place.
Yes they were part of the consortium that got is back into the football league. But they are just like the grand old duke of york - marched us back to the place we started from.
Perhaps its guilt over last seasons monumental cock up - who knows?

Perhaps they've just had enough of being associated with the gruesome twosome ;-)

Purely my take on things:

Could it possibly be that Thea, is pulling all the strings at the moment and has upset the apple cart whilst the 3 other board members were absent? Answer Yes.

People are calling her a lovely lady and I believe that to be the case however being a new Chairperson, added with the confidence of her financial backing, she (and the other 2 goons) have not followed the required boardroom etiquette and therefore decided to do business her way.

My worry is that without the required business acumen at board room level we may find ourselves deep in financial problems much sooner than people might think.

If the coming season should go t*ts up, the sh*t will hit the fan big time. If she has to walk / run away and we haven't got a backer in place, the debt will be there for all to enjoy.

CH needs to hit the ground running in order to keep the supporters flocking through the turnstyles, if his inexperience starts to shine then Thea will be put under further pressure, inviting more important decisions, regarding TUFC future to be made.

I think the Bristow’s will have been a great short term fix (4- 7 yrs) for TUFC however not I'm convince at all that they are good for the long term health of the club.

I think that Brucie makes some good points about all this. We don't know the reasons behind the resignations. We can guess, but we don't know.

As I have said in other threads, I trust Thea's integrity, she clearly loves the club and has backed it to the hilt in one way that really counts, with cash! We haven't got a Board with a convicted criminal running it (like Hereford), we don't have a club owned by a Moroccan gentleman whose promises mean very little (like Salisbury), we have a Board whose chairman has backed the club with pots of her own money. No broken promises, no suspect motives about selling the club's assets, just a love for the club.

Yes, as supporters we do want assurance that the remaining Board has the ability to run a football club, but we can judge that in the forthcoming season. The resignations were not good news, but they have happened and we have to move on and stop hand wringing.

Is it just a coincidence that the three resignations came on the same day as the open day at Plainmoor? Did something happen on that dayon Tuesday.
One surprise in the team photo was Billy Bodin, who turned up on crutches.
C.H. Is on record as saying he couldn't see any future at the club for Bodin, certainly on the money he was on before.
Is there any connection with the resignations and the 50k that was donated by a mystery lady?
All conjecture I know but I do believe the supporters are deserving of a more plausible explanation than the press release so far.
Three resignations on one day, please give us some credit and explain.

I simply have no idea. I STILL HAVE YET to read any convincing argument regarding the supposed dreadfulness of Baker/Phillips and whether they are part of axis of power based around the Bristows that Alex Rowe and the Boyce Brothers could no longer tolerate, we may never know.

It does seem weird, as it is not long ago that Alex Rowe resumed a position of significance as Vice-Chair.

I wish someone would spell it out what Baker etc is guilty of. During his tenure as Chair we did have a new stand and make the play-offs two years running, so you could argue he was quite successful but the three resignations was clearly a co-ordinated move and show of strength with regard to whatever issue has emerged.

Rowe and the Boyce's are making it known that they" left on good terms";that they" have strong friendships with our fellow Directors" and that they" fully support the club and Bristow family". "Fresh investment, energy and new ideas" are also mentioned. Maybe they have just put so much into being a Director since setting up the new Board after the last relegation, they just need a break from it all now,as they just don't have the time, energy, and motivation to" go again" .

I'm now in no doubt I've got the wrong end of stick over this, I fully believe there has been no fall out between the board what so ever, but also I'm no doubt the reasons behind these resignations are in no way positive either, enough said.

I don't without the short term fix their would be a long term future for the club. I also disagree given that the funds have been and are still being made available for what appears to be coming a strong youth set up.

Yes, but there also has to be an understanding here, that to gain the eppp funding the has to put money in to match it. The eppp funding is for one year only, if the club is not promoted back to the league at the first attempt it will lose the eppp funding, then how will the youth set up be funded, will the club have the money.

Will they have to gain charitable status, or will the players have to pay a training fee, or worse will we lose the youth set up all together, that remains, yet to be seen.

Play offs under Ling to a 2nd relegation in 7 years, not what I would call a success. However will conceed the money has helped with a new Stand and training grounds.

The cash has been most welcomed however its only a plaster in terms of our longer term future.

I find myself in the unusual position of agreeing with most of what Brucie has to say on a subject... :Z

I do find all of this a little distasteful. People making assumptions about board members, past and present and passing them off as facts.
Does anyone actually know any of these people personally, or know how they act in the board room?

Point of order here Phil, I've seen plenty of suggestions, assumptions and opinions, haven't seen anyone pass of there posts of as "fact" if I'm wrong, show me them.

You believe that the timing of this is coincidental, and this could be a case of three directors helping out with all the hard work then stepping aside, that's fine, your allowed to think that. I am almost 100 % certain there has been no fall out on the board, but I'm almost 100 % certain the reasons were not coincidental or positive, note at no time have I used the word "fact"

Okay, I was meaning some people were implying it. Making statements as if fact and then backing them up with rumours they have heard and results of adding 2 and 2 together (which rarely seem to be 4).
