Am I the only one that wouldn't play Benyon at all? Sorry not doubting his commitment but I haven't seen (not been to that many games) anything this season that warrants his place.

I've only seen him once this season, against Pompey, and he was our worst player by a mile.

I reckon once is definitely enough to make an informed comment.

You can't pick Bodin for Tuesday as I'm pretty certain he's out injured for a while. I only chose Benyon in my team for Burton for his nuisance value as he can draw defenders out of position leaving space for others.

Hence why I put that I'd only seen him the once this season....I didn't say that he needed to be crucified because of it, but simply that he was worse than bad - and we had Nico on the pitch

Poke
O'Connor Downes Pearce Cruise
Labadie Lathrope
Chapell Craig Bodin
Goodwin
That's a team I'd actually be excited about. The pace of Chapell, Bodin and Goodwin should provide plenty of movement, and the extra creativity of Craig in the hole would be a welcome addition.

Oh and as Bodin isn't around for Tuesday I'd probably bring Yeoman in, either up front or just in on the left. I'm not as convinced as some are on here about his ability, but at least he has a bit of movement about him, and he won't be afraid to have a go.
If not then probably Wilkinson again, I didn't think he was that bad.

Many thanks mate, but I can't spell Downes..

defiantly got Chapell right though, checked the back of his shirt, as for Labadie, just don't go there, so can't have the job.

Guys, as mentioned earlier in this thread, I think you will find that Labadie will be suspended for Tuesday and Saturday as that booking he picked up for "simulation" was unfortunately his 10th of the season and therefore he will have to serve an automatic 2 game ban, with no right of appeal.
There must be some doubt over Mansell who limped off too and both Bodin and Cooper are a couple of weeks away I believe.
For those calling for the recall of Craig and Yeoman, pretty sure that under the terms of any loan agreement we cannot recall them in the first month and so they are a couple of weeks away from being considered too.
I would imagine we might see a return of Lathrope and perhaps Harding for Tuesday. I suppose there is also an outside chance of Harper featuring, if we can agree some sort of short term deal.
Desperate times, I'm afraid.

..............I'd get the players playing competitive training matches between themselves AT Plainmoor (pitch allowing) and offer free entry. Quite clearly the players are inhibited by the atmosphere at Plainmoor and if things aren't going to plan the atmosphere becomes tense and then turns into resignation. It is so heavy and you can cut through it like a knife. We need to improve our home form if we are to stay up so if we get a few hundred inside the ground to try and replicate a league game with no pressure then it might help. The players can make errors knowing there is no pressure. This is psychological now. We've tried allsorts and nothing works. Away from home we play better and show more desire and fight in the main possibly because generally we aren't expected to win. I don't see how we can get many more points on the board at home with such pressure on the players and such a dreadful atmosphere.
Crazy idea I know but Chris's honeymoon period is over and our home performances and form has stopped to a juddering halt. The players need to feel comfortable again playing at Plainmoor and usually I'd slate them accusing them of being unprofessional and to get their fingers out but that hasn't worked and won't work now.
If I were Chris I'd give it a shot. I'd also try and be more decisive. At Chesterfield we were under persistent pressure when they levelled yet he waited until 70 odd minutes to replace Stockley who was blatantly cream crackered 20 minutes before the change. A Benyon up there working hard and cutting down space would have eased the pressure a tad. Yesterday we needed to take the game by the scruff. It was stale and wasn't getting any better yet Nico aside, Accy make the first sub late on. He must be more braver and just throw caution to the wind now. We lost anyway so I'd rather lose going for the win. Pussyfooting around and being tentative isn't going to keep us up IMO. Taking a risk is and that is what I thought we were getting with Chris but it feels like he also likes to go about his business with a lack of urgency.
If I were Chris I'd just say f*ck it and do it anyway. He has nothing to lose.

Cheers SNW, it's a hard job this management business
I guess Mansell will fit in there then.
EDIT: Or maybe Harding now he's fit.
