Actually,my mate Petersfield Gull says that, unfortunately, there is a chance the match will be postponed if there is significant rainfall tomorrow and Saturday. The Pompey pitch doesn't hold up that well and there have been a number of matches postponed in recent years-including the Premiership and Championship seasons. They've had one match postponed at Fratton Park this season(Accrington) and one abandoned at half-time(Wycombe).
Lets hope that part of the South Coast misses the worst of the predicted bad weather-we really do need to play this one.
I think Matt was dangling the bait with his comment...

I was taking the piss, but I'm intrigued to hear that we have a Petersfield based fan. Where is he when we need him?
Matt.

Weather forecast now is for heavy rain tomorrow. Think tomorrow's weather will dictate whether this one is on or not.
Been dry today though.

So how's the weather down in the west country folks? The forecast looks pretty grim from 12pm onwards in Sussex. Let's hope the pitch can take the rain

No planned pitch inspection according to the lovely lady on the phone at Pompey. Of course that doesn't mean the game will be on (as we saw Tuesday) but so far it's all systems go.

And, all weather systems go, it seems..
However, though rain is forecast in Portsmouth for the next 12 hours, Saturday is forecast to be mainly sunny with a few showers lunchtime/early afternoon. Fingers crossed...

I, also, spoke to a lady at Portsmouth.this was at 16.30 and she confirmed that, to date, there is no pitch inspection planned. She said that it had not rained today, but was very windy.
Obviously, as we know, things could easily change, but at least it's encouraging so far.

Wife comes from Pompey. Seen many games at Fratton Park since 1967. Remember a very young Peter Crouch in 2001. All arms and legs!! Amazed he had such a long and successful career.
I fancy us to win this one 1 -0 . Another Downes header.

Me and the wife are heading down/across for this one. Money's been a bit tight recently, but there was no way I was missing this match. Been looking forward to this for weeks.
We've woken up to a bright sunny day here in Southampton so unless there's some completely different localised weather down in Pompey there's no chance of this not going ahead.
