My opinion is based on a choice, as I choose to support Torquay.

Nicholson is contracted to have the best interests for the club.

All I'm saying is, no one knows the truth of what has gone on in relation to this matter, but I think it is unfair to speculate without any foundation whatsoever and wish that someone would keep quiet on the matter whilst those around continue to speculate......doesn't seem fair and its no wonder he responds if he feels wronged by everyone particularly if he is sat at home and feels alienated. He has been a kingpin of this club for many years and deserves better in my opinion.
Lets be honest in recent weeks Knill has gone from messiah for saving the club, then to zero for destroying the club and now back to messiah after a couple wins and along the way the club and board have been slated for allowing this to happen. Now we believe the club and Nicholson must be wrong........its enough to make anyone respond/get frustrated
Just my opinion

Being critized in public and not having the right to defend yourself is difficult, and that's a sentiment I will agree with, in this case however there should be nothing out in public regards to what's happened with Nicho, not from the club it's manager or Nicho himself.

No manager regardless of his reputation would take the decision to tell a player to stay away from first team affairs lightly, or take should a decision out of ignorance or to spite anyone, that's a serious decision to take and one I should imagine would need board approval.

As said there's two sides to a story, Nicho's friends and indeed family paint one side to the story, then some speak to those with a more independent view and the story has a whole new tale to tell, and a different ending, those who want to bang the he's a club legend drum or use it as a stick to beat Knill or the club with, there is no smoke with out fire, and never has been.

its hard to know what to believe.............but

if the case is that he got the monk on about being taken off - then he needs to man up a bit.

yes, we all know what a great servant hes been to the club over the years, but if the manager thinks hes not cutting it anymore, he has the
decision to make. bearing in mind, nicho has been here before and managed to get back into the team. however, this time and for whatever reason he cant manage that - if thats the case then im afraid he has to accept that.
if he was a relative or friend of mine i would be telling him the same. its hard to accept, but thats what he has to do.

no one player whether its nicho, manse or anyone is bigger than the club and the club will be here when they have all gone.

This is basically what I was meaning to say however it may have come across different.

Just want to add that I saw Nicho training hard with the first team on the Monday before the Southend game and there was no evidence of any animosity between Knilly and Nicho, whilst I was watching. I think Nicho has been fantastic for Torquay and I hope that the Torquay fans can find a way to express their gratitude, if it looks like he might leave in the January window. I suggest we all sing "Nicholson" at an appropriate time [ I don't want Criusey to think it's against him ] Maybe halftime would be a good time. Of course I'd rather he didn't leave. I hate it when any long term Torquay player has to move on and it's even worse when we don't have the opportunity to say "Thanks"

Regardless of whether Nico should or shouldn't currently be in the team, he should always have a place in the heart of Torquay fans. Not only has he been a fine servant, given years of loyal service on the pitch, and been Torquay through and through, I believe he and Manse have offered more than just what they offer on the pitch. Over the years at Plainmoor they seem to have fostered a real happy squad spirit in the club which was a big factor in the team really performing above itself and reaching the play-offs twice ahead of teams that spent far more money. Their banter on Twitter and I guess in the dressing room and training ground seems to have really gelled the squad and you only have to look at how they interacted with players like Eunan, and how well they got on, and it may well explain why Torquay has been a pretty happy ship for most of the time and even stars like Eunan were in no hurry to leave. And from the outside, it didn't seem that there were many really disenchanted or disruptive players even if they weren't in the starting 11 which takes quite a bit of bonding from management and senior players.
While Nico may not be the quickest, he has made up for that in other areas of know-how and even this season that left-foot delivery has led to goals. Fellow pros didn't name him the Div 2 left-back of the year for nothing. The only way I could see anyone could ever criticise him is if he's turned players against the manager at this crucial time, and no-one has any evidence to suggest that to be the case. Just being unhappy and having a bit of a moan about losing your place would just constitute a natural reaction in a game where players have different attributes and different people will have different views on who should be first choice. And most Torquay fans hold Nico in similar high regard.

Hear hear. Nicely summarised.

It'd be nice to see Kev get fixed up with another club in January (if that's what he wants). I wonder if Salisbury, Weymouth or somebody would be interested?

It's just a real shame when a player who has given a lot to the club goes out with such a lack of dignity

I would much rather remember him for his last minute screamer at home to Barnet than flippant and un-educated tweets and comments....but fear the later will win over

Just as a matter of interest. In my 51 years of supporting TUFC Nicholson is by no means the slowest player to represent the club; that award must go to.....Alex Watson!
