I didn't mention the Harrogate defeat because i wasn't at the game so i can't say it was the worst i'd seen as i hadn't seen it but you're right. If i'd been there it would probably have been the worst one and that would take some doing as if you were a regular attendee at away games too you will instinctively know why and also instinctively know why Ling got his marching orders. :~D

Strangely enough it was Pope Gregory the 9th inviting me for drinks aboard his steam yacht, the saucy sue currently wintering in montego bay with the England cricket team and the Balanese Goddess of plenty.

Very good thread.
I'm looking at each part of this from the perspective of outcomes.
Most important. I think there are three options
a)The game I think it was three into Taylors period where it dawned on the board that he needed support in the form of someone with managerial experience
b) Dagenham away when at last the team realised how to match the opposition for possession and shots on goal
c)Chesterfield at home when we got our future back into our own hands
Best Bristol Rovers at home - sheer relief and joy.
Worst - I know this will be controversial but Exeter away - because it lulled people into thinking that we could make it without Ling and with Taylor in charge.

I'm glad the importance of the Chesterfield game/Performance has been mentioned. Likewise the Barnet game - Lose and we're doomed - was massive too!
Revised summary of the season for me: Best - Chesterfield at home, Worst- Wimbledon at home, Most important - Barnet at home.
The rest.... I'm not so sure.

Gillingham at home..totally unexpected win but showed that shots on goal do payoff, shame that was not followed through.
Best - Aldershot (H) - Simply because, when do you see come-backs like that?
Important - Barnet (H) - Took us out of the drop-zone, put Barnet there and gave us the confidence to go and win at Morecambe.
Worst - Harrogate (H) - Ling could have been sacked after that display. Alarm bells and shocking football was there to see.

Christ I had forgotten Harrogate home, shows just how bad that match was.Yep was there so that takes over from Southend home as my worst match.

Wasn't there but Aldershot at home has to go down as one of the best/most important results of the season, was quite remarkable following it from a distance, must've been amazing to have been there. In terms of disappointing results, losing at Wycombe in the very next game when they were absolutely rooted to the bottom of the table was horrible. We just didn't turn up, everyone seemed to have a bad day. Maybe the players took the Aldershot result for granted and just expected things to happen in a similar vein.
