Supergulls - you have identified my quote as unwarranted so I feel the need to reply.
First point - I didn't say it was Ling's fault!
Second - I actually feel that the Club should put full and accurate information out and not rely on Sky Sports commentators to spread the news. I was actually at the match at St James Park and didn't have the benefit of a commentary!!!
To wait as long as they did to make an announcement created uncertainty everywhere and allowed the rumours to start and circulate. And they were not exactly diligent about updating everyone on progress. Suddenly we learnt that a temporary replacement was being recruited. I don't think we have had anything further about ML for weeks? How is he now? All I have heard is rumours - rumours which don't bring credit on anyone if true.
It is never a good idea to hold information back in a "confidence" business - better to be open and assertive about the future.
Oddly enough, it is rare for this to happen in football. Usually, when the team starts to slide close to relegation the Chairman expresses confidence in the manager, the team loses the next match, the manager gets his cards and the arrangements for the future are announced - caretaker manager or new manager. And - usually - the team gets a new impetus. Not in our case though!
This time last year...

Modgull don't think my reply was a personal attack, it's just that I don't think the stick that Martin has been getting on here is warranted. He's a lovely bloke and it is so unfortunate that the poor bloke has been taken poorly. I also get so angry when people don't know the facts and make stuff up. Like they did on Saturday saying he had been sacked and he was at the ground. It's unfair and unnecessary.

Poorly or not poorly, nice blokeor not, we have been rubbish all year. I in no way wish for anything other than good health for him, but good health or bad health, that is no excuse to set up so defensively all season.
I have seen others say he's not to blame, but if we'd tried to win some games early on instead of trying not to lose, we may have lost some draws, but we'd have won some as well. Plymouth away was an absolute joke. If we'd have attacked we'd have held on to that lead.
