I assume he won't be allowed to play against Southend on Saturday?

Classic Benyon today. Right place, right time. We've missed that sort of instinct.

Benyon's an even better player since he's come back. Great instincts; works his bollocks off every match. SIGN HIM UP!!

And in our last few games, having lost a few pounds and regained his sharpness, he was looking a real threat again. I maintain, a very effective striker at this level.

I'm not 100% sold on him but if he's going to put the ball in the back of the net and give 100% what more can you ask from a League Two striker?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't he also manage a full 90 today without straying offside?

Thank God he didn't get recalled!

A fully-fit, confident Elliot Benyon is an excellent striker at this level. He's struggled since leaving Plainmoor, but if there's any chance of getting him back it should be grasped with both hands.

As above, he's been a revelation on the run in. Very good today. Sign him up please as he clearly enjoys playing for us.

so to all the benyon doubters, what say you now, again he put in a tireless display and scores two goals, well done elliot, get him signed up for next season, we could do a lot worse , so come on give him a pat on the back, your quick to put him down so what about a bit of praise when its due, thanks elliot, TOP MAN!

Offside once I believe.

I'd love to know how far Benyon runs each match, he's everywhere! Does anyone know his contract situation with Southend? Sign him up!

Ling wasn't there when he signed

Completely agree, Benyon's probably the hardest-working player I've ever seen a really busts a gut for the team. Has no right to win as many headers etc as he does, but his sheer persistence pays off and we'd have been lost without him today. Hopefully he'll be willing to come back permanently in the summer.
