his performance at centre mid along with ian morris in the team v cheltenham was arguably the best midfield performance last season under the conditions and scenario

Martin Rice "tries his best" - doesn't mean I want him in the team ahead of Poke.
I would argue you are living in the past too - so he played well last season. Lovely. He is now two whole league below us - he is at his level and is nowhere near good enough to play in our team this season.

Lee Mansell tries hes best and more most of this season hes been poor.

People still think hes fantastic because "Hes a nice guy" and I'm not having a pop at him because I think on his day Manse is a good player for us. But that kind of proves your post to be flawed.

And McPhee went to Salisbury because he wanted a coaching role as well and keep it local. There were BSP teams interested in him as well.

The one where he came on as a sub and then was subbed himself later in the match you mean?

No it doesn't - even "on his day" McPhee isn't good enough to play for us. Manse is.

The fact that no League 2 clubs wanted to make a bid for McPhee says it all....if we were to sell Manse at the end of the season for some weird reason I am willing to bet he would be snapped up by a League 2 club.

Well I went every game last season and saw McPhee every time he played and he did a job. And in certain games he did bloody well. I'm not saying hes a stand out player but hes a trier and he was dependable when called upon.

To be fair McPhee did have a cracking game away at Cheltenham last season, regardless of whether you rate him or not.

I'm not saying he wasn't Alex - what I am saying is that he is not good enough for us right now.

His current employment suggests this too.

He wants to be a player coach. how many league sides can have budget spare for that role. if were going by form not many of our players would fit your criteria for performing well enough.

As Alex has already said, he has a coaching role at Salisbury, do you really think he would get that here? So no, it is actually a totally pointless thread.
