Um...well they're not going up this year, so is he saying his aim is to get back to back promotions?
Good luck..

You're ruling them out getting promotion this year?
Believe me if Sheridan gets a win in his first game then some Argyle fans are genuinely delusional enough to believe they can make the play-offs (at least!)

For what its worth I think if they sort themselves out this year, push on and maybe sneak promotion next, then going straight through L1 wouldnt be totally unrealistic. It's a weak league, and they will start getting fans back through the gates and getting 8/9k average. All it'll take is a bit of momentum to get the ball rolling.

Good work Sheridan, raise the expectations so high it would be nigh on impossible to fulfil them!

From his time at Chesterfield i know a lot about the bloke and in a way he is a bit like me. Talks a lot of sh*t and is constantly slagging others off. :~D ( although i'm nowhere NEAR as bad!

)

.
He should really be taking stock of what he has ( which isn't much ) and thinking about the here and now because once you are in a dogfight with poor players at the foot of the division, it can be mighty impossible to get out of. He found that out at Chesterfield when he got them relegated from league 1 with what i thought were a capable side. No worse than what Crawley or Stevenage had when they went up. Things started to go jugs up and he would slate his players in the local press every week and look for culpable parties elsewhere. It was never his fault. When the going gets tough, his style of management is ala Roy Keane, totally ineffective and can decimate any belief or confidence a struggling player may have.
If Plymouth stay up and he is given a few quid next season then, of course, he can get them promoted. I don't doubt that. My fear is that he doesn't know how to respond to a struggle and he has certainly got one of those at Plymouth. I stick to my guns with what i said on another thread when he was appointed in that Plymouth Argyle will be a non-league club come May. I have no doubts in my mind that that is what will happen. If the gargs think they are going to get a 'new man comes in and form gets turned on it's head ' scenario with Sheridan they are unsavable. It will be a pure stoical battle to the bitter end and it may end up being a last day escape if it is to happen.

That's the way it usually is with relegation battles.. And don't we know it...!!

They are a massive club, it's their divine right to be up in the Championship. As my Argyle mate keeps telling me, it's only a matter of time before reality restores it's self and see's the mighty huge club that is PAFC back up with the big boys.
I say a spell in the BSP would do their fan base good.
