austrianandygull wrote:This is getting tougher by the post! OK so i'll reply to GG's BLACKADDER, a truly memorable comedy series in which Rown Atkinson plays the title role of Blackadder. For my Austrian comedy genius i'm going to go slightly leftfield and bend the rules a little and go for a british comedian playing an Austrian. Bruno, played in the film by Sacha Baron Cohen. Is that allowed?

In the field of science and theory, Steven Hawking is an exception in his field but so is psychology master Sigmund Freud. Nobody can beat him when it comes to getting people to lay down on a couchette to talk bollocks!

Oh if only you knew how much I wanted to put either my own name or yours to see what your reply would be lol

Oh, and while I'm there, David Attenborough.

Also, Ranulph Fiennes.

Well if you put Glostergull then i'd probably respond by taking a place in Austria and a nickname of an Austrian football team so it would be.......

Klagenfurtbull

Jeez Luke, erm

Felix Baumgartner and er..................erm, Hitler? :-/

I concede defeat on that ( a bit like the Austrians really in EVERY F*CKING THING THEY COMPETE IN!! ) :@

I'll just take the prize of you admitting that Britain is better than Austria. Seems fair to me!

I told you WG, Hitler. He did more than knock down a couple of chimneys. ;-)

On a serious note, it's tragic that Hitler will ALWAYS be the most famous Austrian.

To be fair here Scott, Austria is the one place I'd pack up and move to if I had the chance. Absolutely love the place.

Do you know Seefeld? In the Innsbruck valley. Amazing little village.

Also St Wolfgang, Obergurgl & Niedarau. Been to those 3 once apiece, but Seefeld about 5 times now I think. Going again next summer if I can get the time off work. :)

Never been to those places Nick but am familiar with them. St Gilgen is wonderful as is Mayrhofen which is where the bloke who supplies all my Austrian sausages and produce comes from. He lives in Bakewell and runs an Austrian coffee shop and restaurant in the centre of Bakewell. If you are ever visiting the peaks up here pop in to the Tiroler Stuberl in bakewell, sit down and enjoy a Viennese coffee and a Wienerwurst.

Carinthia ( or Karnten ) is a relatively undiscovered yet beautiful region and has Lake Worthersee as well as the pretty towns of Villach and Klagenfurt.
