I still vote for my previous idea, a giant statue outside the Popside of Martin Ling booting Paul Buckle up his scrawny little backside.
Luke.

Am I going mad? I'm sure there was a long post on this thread a moment ago with about a dozen points. It must have taken a while to write. But where is it? Did I dream it? has it suddenly been taken away? Is it on another thread? No, it can't be that, because the content was absolutly to do with the thread title. HELP!!

He said 500k, not 5million. Jody banim's wasteline would take you waaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyy over budgetgullno4 wrote:24 carat gold statue of jody banim

Buy 2 or 3 club houses while the price is low & rent them to new players for a peppercorn rent. This would enable the club to attract better players with families, & they could rent out their existing houses "up north", & do very nicely. Over a period of time the club houses would increase in value, so it would be a good investment in any case.
footnote.......Boring!! you must try harder to be entertaining.

It would need to be at least £100 million to bring my vision to fruition.
First, for every property on Warbro Road that backs on to that end of the ground, I would make the owner(s) of each property a generous offer to purchase each property. They'd be made an offer they wouldn't refuse (£).
Next, I'd position myself slap bang in the middle between "legitimate business" and "organised crime" - wink at one lot/shake hands with the other - acquire the necessary planning approval then flatten the newly acquired real estate in preparation for the Babbacombe End expansion/rebuild.
Ditto Marnham Road/Popside (to include schools/community use facilities).
Finally, expansion of the Ellacombe End to include an Olympic size swimming pool/leisure facilities which would be available for schools/community use. If more space is needed, then the old vicarage and all those properties on Derwent Road that back on to that End will have to go as well.
As a commitment to the poor/shat upon/underprivileged, I would built a block of 78 social housing flats at a prime position on Marine Drive - Ilsham, together with an arcade of shops to include a chippy and an off-licence.
If after my philanthropic blow out there is any money left over, then I'll waste it on beer and women.

All the surgery and botox Helen Chamberlain desires to keep her (and thus our fine club) in the public eye forever, and make the players determined to get promotion and win the right to see the tattoo on her arse (which she must agree to do again in exchange for the enhancements).
Or pay a younger bird on telly to talk about Torquay and get a local hotty to get a tatt in an intimate place.

I guess that's my Isyeden Chritie idea out the window then.Mav wrote: He said 500k, not 5million. Jody banim's wasteline would take you waaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyy over budget

I wrote that long tome and it took a fair bit of research and valium before I got it into my head to finish it. I made several points and I ensured it went on the thread with no problems. I didn't save it after so if it's gone I may have to rewrite it again providing I can remember what I wrote.
All I can say is Grrrrr
