What a crock of shit.
That Panorama program did it for us, but to be fair, I'd happily see the British Media come down on FIFA like a ton of bricks now - investigations into everything. It's all corrupt, and I'm not surprised we didn't get it.
A country with everything ready-made, ready to host the tournament tomorrow if needed vs a country with no infrastructure, no stadiums, no real interest in football.
Tough one that..

We got 2 votes hmmm... the whole thing stinks. We must accept that most countries do not like England.

Breaking News: Vladimir Putin has boarded a private jet to Zurich to thank Sepp Blatter in person and return his daughter to him safe and unharmed.
World Cup 2026: Afghanistan
World Cup 2030: The South Pole
World Cup 2034: The Moon

Now that's what I call humour.

I can accept Russia, but why the hell is Qatar hosting it?! What stadiums do they/will they have? No footballing history, no footballing potential, and isnt alcohol forbidden there? Absoultely stupid decision, then again both bids probably currupt........

Qatar is actually the most liberal of the Arab countries around that way - they'll turn a blind eye to drinking as long as you're not too obvious about it. Foreigners can still be imprisonment for homosexuality there, though.
I say we encourage the FA to kickstart our Jewish and Gay Footballers of tomorrow programme. That'll learn em

Admitedly i'm annoyed that we didn't get it, football coming home et al, but I'm quite happy it being in Russia, in fact, I smell a job opportunity!

 corrupt, i am sorry people am absolutely devaststated and shocked bout this decision by this so called commitee,we as you all know eveything in place in our country, and to only get 1 vote plus our vote, the whole situation is a farce. just what more does our great country have to do, these wallys who decide this must be absolute crackpots, obviously dont know all the the politics involved in this farce, and no doubt none of us will ever find out, it stinks of corruption and no doubt bribes was involved somewhere along the line, sorry to rant on a bit, but am very passionate about our country, and what we have to offer as a nation, i know we are not perfect in any way,am not that naive,we have never stood a chance from the word go,these ball bags at fifa need some therapy.

It is hardly likely that we will ever get a sniff of a World Cup finals whilst "mad as a hatter" is in charge. You can also add in the financial clout of the Premier League which pisses off pretty much all of the other football federations. I never though we stood a chance anyway so i'm hardly suprised by the result.....
Oh and Qatar will be bloody hot in the summer as well (around 40 deg on average). Absolutely barking. Just a shame the IOC picked us for the olympics. Mind you, they probably thought it would be a laugh to shaft us with a fracking great bill to host it...

Although Blatter hates England and all things English, we only got 2 votes out of 22. Reason? The delegates ensure their and their families holidays are different and varied, and they've been to Spain, Italy, France, USA, S.Africa, Japan/Korea, are going to Brazil so lets give Russia and Qatar a go.
They were never going to vote to come here, they've done the Med. Lets face it, we as a people dont holiday at home (its so cold and miserable, rain, weathers crap blah blah) so we can hardly blame them.
They're just doing what we would do given their position.

Sounds like the real reason that England only got 2 votes was tactical; trying to eliminate the English early....2 of the votes that had been Holland/Belgium's in the first round were switched to Russia in the second.

[quote="yellowsmiffy"]Spanish media presented the results 20 minutes before Blatter did. Abramovitch was smugly smiling away before it was released....
It's nothing to do with our bid, it was a full proof bid. Everything about this country is perfect for a World Cup, if it were down to who could produce the best and most entertaining spectacle it would be us. It's come down to money and that is it. It's corrupt as ****.
Qatar says it all - It will be 50 degrees C there in summer, and apparently the stadiums will be built with AIR CONDITIONING!?!?!? That is pure madness.
There will be empty seats everywhere in Qatar. There were empty seats in South Africa, and Africa is a passionate footballing continent. If FIFA think fans will travel across the world, with no alcohol, bars and clubs, to watch football in the desert then they are barking. Attendances will be poor, and the people of Qatar wont turn up to fill the empty spaces, they are not a footballing nation.
Russia has no infrastructure and no stadia. What's the fecking point!? We could stage a world cup next week'
Lost faith in football today
Sorry mate but football has nothing to do with the big business that is todays version of the game and my faith disappeared in 1993 at the advent of the 'Greed is the Key' Premiership.

Thank-you, thank-you, thank-you! And here was me believing a God didn t exist! I looked at the back page of the Mail today and read the excruciating headline...BRING IT HOME Let s clinch the right to stage 2018...then build a team fit to WIN the World Cup like these heroes did in 1966! How dare they use the team of 1966 and the likes of Wayne Rooney in the same sentence! Was I the only one who saw the shambolic performance from the England team in South Africa! Has anything changed, or is anything likely to change...I think the recent game against France will answer that question! If we were to host the 2018 World Cup it would be the second most embarrassing moment in the history of planet earth! The most embarrassing moment in the history of planet earth will happen in 2012 when this country hosts the Olympic Games. After having spent some twenty billion pounds (or thereabouts) on a new stadium that within a year of completion will not be good enough for even a load of “travellers†to move into. Then of course we have to have the opening ceremony...did anybody see the Chinese one...how are we going to compete with that! It s going to be so embarrassing, i ve already booked a cave without a TV in Scotland for a week. I for one do not want to see or hear the rest of the world laughing at us. That goes for the Olympics AND the World Cup!
