Better effort second half but doesn't mask what was a poor performance all over the pitch. Even after the goals we were still clinging on. To be fair to rovers they came back after the hammer blow of the equaliser and subjected us to relentless pressure. The winning goal was quite unlucky on our part, party from Poke was turned back across goal and tapped in from point blank range. Will need to see it again but perhaps he could have tipped it behind rather than back into the dangerzone

How did I know that was going to happen
At 2-2 the job was not done - we needed to pummel them even harder :slap:
Shame - needed a fresh striker on as soon as Downes scored that would have made the poop the pants :S
Didn't happen, they have clean underwear and I am off to do the groceries
Lovely autumn day here out in the boondocks
COYY

Good effort with ten men for two-thirds of the game. Four of the next six at home. Gillingham a tough one but they all look winnable. Time to go on a run

I take back what I said about Pokey. Perhaps, in the circumstances, he didn't do too badly after all...?? Still room for improvement, though...??

Warning, this post is, probably, devoid of errors of spelling and grammar, please do not read if you are offended by perceived intelligence.
Aaron Downes brilliant, no one else exceptional, but not really a match for judging performances. Bloody referee determined Rovers would win, Oastler second barely even a foul, let alone a yellow and certainly not a second yellow and absolutely not that early in the match.
Free kick for their second a little suspicious, he owes us a penalty late on, after everything, we might well have had a point today with a more fair minded referee.
Matt.

Hi Gulls. Well it was entertaining but as regards the referee I think you are being a bit bias there especially if you consider the hand ball he missed on Howes goal. As regards the sending off I thought the first foul alone was a red card offence as was Pokes handball outside of his area. To be honest we let you off the hook really because we could and should have been totally out of site when you had eleven players. We were totally in command of the game in all departments and only Poke kept the scoreline respectable. I was expecting a lot more from you to be honest and I thought you were a far superior side last season.
Was really worried when we let you back into a game that was ours for the taking as I have seen it many times before where we have played against ten players and done nothing. Fair dos to you for fighting back into the game but I dont think any of you can deny us the win today as with a bit of luck it could have been a cricket score. Poke,Downes and Howe were your best players but felt the big difference was midfield where we dominated most of the possession. It was a shame from our point of view that Broghammer had to go off as he was leading your full back a merry dance.
Despite your performance today I still feel you will be around the Play Off positions all season. As regards us well we have really been hit by injuries this season and still have Bolger,Woodards,Hunter,Gill and Riordan to come in so a lot will depend on whether we have turned the corner or just another false summer.

I thought Leadbitter was excellent, and Oastler shouldnt play again, he wss bloody awful, he deserved the red card for being so stupid. We were terrible, apart from 5 minutes where we scored, passing was amateurish, movement non-existant and closing down dreadful. We had two defensive midfielders in Easton abd Lathrope and Mansell loves a tackle, yet they consistently strolled right up to the edge of our box unchallenged while we backed off, dreadful.
