This is a long shot but.....

Post by htfc_morris »

does anyone know, or know of the former Hartlepool United goalkeeper called John Watson? I was just wondering if anyone knew him as he was last known to be running a pub in the 1990's, I know it's a while ago but I'm just wondering if anyone knows him or if he is still living in Torquay?

Does anyone know whatever happened to the Torquay and Huddersfield player called Maurice Cox? Does anyone know what he is up to now, or his current location?

Thanks

If given greater than three minutes to reply, I'm sure you'll get an answer... :~D

No which of course does not answer the question, but it may be of interest to some members that he held the record for the fastest goal at the old Wembley Stadium. Twenty or so seconds a goal for Cambridge University against Oxford University. Son of an early 60's Torquay United hero of mine Geoff Cox (although he did get the Chris McPhee treatment from some supporters!). I thought I had seen somewhere that Maurice moved abroad a while ago but I don't know so I won't guess!

Perhaps we ought to ask why the OP wants to know? Is it a seriously mad ex-wife wielding a meat cleaver, looking to inflict 'a Whelpdale' on her former beau? Is it an 18 stone meathead with teardrop tattoos and a bad attitude, wanting his money back? Is it a crazy cat lady stalker looking to circumvent a restraining order?

As for you Stef, you watch, McPhee will come to warrant further criticism.

Yes I know, but I'm just a big softie and find it impossible to criticise any player wearing a Torquay United shirt! ;-)

Does anyone have an autograph of Maurice Cox that they would wish to part with for a price?

Strangely enough it was Pope Gregory the 9th inviting me for drinks aboard his steam yacht, the saucy sue currently wintering in montego bay with the England cricket team and the Balanese Goddess of plenty.
