well here we go again, people spouting off beacause we have lost to a team from the outer reaches of yorkshire, not for the first time over the years we have lost to this sort of opposition and now all of a sudden people are wondering whether martin ling is up to it, are you the same people that spout the same sh-t are heard on the popside on saturday, perhaps you are friends of our bell ringing fan who also spouts crap everytime he opens his gob, we are 7th in the league for christ sake and you are debating if he is up to the job, he is the best manager for the job, who else would you have come in to manage us, the bloke needs OUR: :scarf: :scarf: :scarf: support and he has mine, look at plymouth colchester swindon, they are in the same boat they all got beat by lesser opposition, and as for the size of the gates just look at all the games , they were all well down on league games, keep the faith, MARTIN LINGS YELLOW ARMY! :scarf: :scarf: :scarf: :scarf: :scarf: :scarf: :scarf: :scarf :scarf: :scarf: :scarf:

I hope that we will never be the kind of club that would consider outing a manager after an upset, they've happened before, they'll happen again, and all it says about the team is that they had a bad day. I think we still have a lot more to come from a lot of these players, and its great to have a gaffer who wants to stick around and is looking to the future, rather than one who only ever talked about his "ambition".
I'm proud to have Lingy at the helm, just wish that the helm wasn't directly in front of the moaning ba*tard section of Bristow's Bench.

I didn't think that the bench was frequented by moaners, i thought they always went in the pop?

Work with a plymouth fan, after a quick chat on our embarrasing cup exits he said, look on the bright side atleast you have a professional football manager, he wished they had one at Plymouth.

And this is it, what position could we, would we be in with out Martin Ling, and if he went, who would take the job, we are lucky to have him as our manager.

I think the thing that p*ssed me off about that 'other' Harrogate fan HTAFC is that he couldn't wait to come on OUR forum and have a go. If WE had won i wouldn't be busting a gut to get on your forum and brag. Tonight for example there might be Barnet fans on their forum saying they are going to stick three past us and our goalie is sh*te and this that and t'other but so what? It's their forum and i've got better things to do than go and visit it and post childish antagonistic bullsh*t. Let them get on with it if they want to slag us off. The 'other' Harrogate fan didn't NEED to come on say told you so or told you we would give you a game because it happened so we are now aware that our overconfidence and disregard to their team was over the top and we got well and truly pelted with eggs all over our faces. We know that so we don't appreciate fannies like him coming on and wasting everybody's eye use with irrelevant cess, anyway. Good luck in the cup and in the league and hope you can make conference soon.

Tonight it's going to be 2-1 to the Gulls and i reckon we will control the game tiring late on and losing a bit of confidence and conceding in the last 10 minutes but we hold on in the end. Howe and Stevens first half goals.

They seem to be becoming harder to avoid, Lingy has spoke a couple of times about moaners behind his dugout, obviously the most recently being the guy who told him he should resign as he was walking back to the tunnel. Pop can also be full of them, there's a guy who stands behind me, and who always goes alone, yet still feels the need to have a loud moaning session throughout the game, he was on Rene's back all through through Morecambe, even though he was one of the guys doing the most work on the pitch.

Its part and parcel of football and Martin Ling as a former player and Manager of three clubs should know that and accept it, moaning that is not abuse, it happens everywhere, not sure why some seem to think Torquay is a club all of its own when it comes to moaning frustrated fans.

Last season I even heard a number of Man.U fans suggest S-A-F should retire, and more than a few Arsenal fans wanting Wenger to be sacked, think overall us Torquays aren't that bad and Lingy has the support of the overwhelming majority.

I sit behind Lingy in the Bench and it's literally two blokes, both VERY vocal. One guy seems to be blind (not being mean here, he actually has a white stick), listens to the radio commentary on headphones and blurts out stuff that he's heard from the commentators and the other guy, who's even more vocal, doesn't miss an opportunity to slate Ling and/or the players. When Rene was subbed during the Morecambe game, he actually shouted out, "what's happened to all the goals, Rene?", very loudly. Most of those of us sat around him rounded on him and told him he was a prat and to shut up. I can appreciate that Lingy gets a bit rattled by the heckles but, trust me, it's just a couple of guys who are very loud. They also gave a lot of stick to Billy Bodin during the Harrogate match.
