This is exactly the sort of utter shite they spent their time with on the Rovers forum. People whinging on about the manager, then instructing others how to behave when they are shot down for the idiots that they are (see Coley to Camb, above).
It's boring and meaningless on the Rovers board and it's equally as unwelcome here.
Matt.

Read the reports then say I haven't got a point. You might disagree with opinions but not facts !
I supported Martin Ling's appointment and still support him as our manager, yes I have been critical of our stop start performances this season thats not me being negative for the sake of it, our team is capable of playing better than it has so far this season, Martin Ling made an ill judged mistake in my opinion on Thursday saying we would only have 1 day to prepare for the game, speaking to someone from Harrogate football club yesterday think they were slightly insulted by that, and it was a comment that certainly was used to try and inspire their team.
The reason I still support Lingy is simple, I do see the bigger picture, Martin Ling took over a squad with no goalkeepers, just lost Branno, aswell as the entire foward line from the previous season, with no funds put together a squad of misfits and when all said and done finished 5th higher than and with more points than Buckle managed with a team of so called league 2 superstars, losing in the play-off semi was dissappointing though.
Just how things would be different if the club enjoyed ave gates of 4000 plus, facts are facts it doesn't so to keep the ship afloat players have to be sold and he has had to start again with out Bobby.O, Eunan O'Kane and the peoples champion Mark Ellis, and yet here we are in October higher up the league than last season with more points, in fact sat just 4 points of 3rd place.
Yesterday I slammed the club and again thats not me be being negative for the sake of it, just being honest, charging full price was wrong, Lingys pre match comments poor, team performance unforgivable, that said however, looking at the overall position of our club and League position of our team, are things really that bad, not really.

You haven't stated any facts. You've quoted some quotes (from articles which are written subjectively by a journalist) and given your opinions on them. That isn't fact.coley wrote:Read the reports then say I haven't got a point. You might disagree with opinions but not facts !
Also, why are you trying to comment on the match when you weren't even there? The BBC reports are notoriously awful and unreliable. I rarely ever get to games, but do I try to make judgements on a game I haven't seen? No, of course I don't, because highlights and reports will never allow me make my own judgement on a match. You're just using someone else's opinion, putting a negative twist on it by claiming that the manager should go, then attempting to make it out to be your own opinion.
Yes, it was seemingly a poor game. Yes, we seem to have had plenty of poor games this year. Does it mean Martin is doing a poor enough job to require a change in management? Dear god no, we're in 7th place and we've had patchy form. Can you just imagine where we'll be if the form clicks?
Luke.

I think in a nutshell many of the complainers are pleased overall with Lingy and are very happy with our league position just furious with more than a couple abject performances this season, the latest coming yesterday. I think the defeat combined with the fact that fans felt mugged by the pricing structure for yesterdays game has exacerbated the frustration towards Lingy and the team. Like Dave forever says, the bigger picture is looking good but if the management and players could come out now and again and really apolgise sincerely for the manner of some of the defeats instead of a faceless message on twitter then i'd be somewhat more placated and forgiving. No need to go overboard, we move on and try and get some away consistency up and running starting at Barnet on tuesday.
Strangely enough it was Pope Gregory the 9th inviting me for drinks aboard his steam yacht, the saucy sue currently wintering in montego bay with the England cricket team and the Balanese Goddess of plenty.

I completely agree, I can't take comments seriously from somebody who thinks that Ling should go now, that is as mad as those from Argyle fans who think that their team's rightful place is in the Championship. I think Martin has done a first class job, and he should have the full support of the fans.cambgull wrote:

Seriously?
We are 7th in the league, having played some of the strongest sides in the league so far.
We have a better points return than this time last season.
We have an unbeaten home record in the league.
We made the play offs last season after losing some key players to Buckle..
What more do you people want? I'm disappointed that we are out of the FA Cup but seriously. Martin Ling has been a breath of fresh air to TUFC. Tells it like it is and will no doubt want a swift response on Tuesday night.

Yeah i think if we didn't have Ling then who would come in and do any better than what he has done thus far? Exactly. If we were battling relegation 2 years on the spin then call for a change. My frustration and i suppose clouded judgement comes from the simple fact that i spend money i can ill afford going to some games and i always get sh*t even if we snatch a draw. Obviously i missed the Aldershot home game due to illness when i was down in Devon but i just want to go to a game and come out after thinking WOW! That was a real cracker! Never happens to me though
.It's always the same and it does annoy me. I accept that some games are going to be poor and over the course of a season they will even themselves out it's just the fact that i have yet to see a good game and that forms the basis of my criticism. Martin is immense though and he has done amazing things for us since he has been here. Of course all that can change in the blink of an eye but for now he is achieving.

Some of you are never happy. It's pretty clear from Ling's post match interview yesterday he mentions a lack of ability, but if he has no money in the budget left over (which I think is the case) what can he do?
