seems they have really missed Graham Turner more than they thought. He kept the club alive through a really tought time for them and eventually they were able to get back into the league. He goes and now they are possibly on the way out. That will end any hopes they have of a new home in the future unless a sugar daddy comes along.

Hope Hereford can sort something out and hopefully get back in the football league soon. I like going to Hereford, it's a nice city. Ok so the ground is a mess and they had the worst programmes in the football league but it was always an enjoyable day out despite me only going twice and us losing on both occasions. The highlights are the compact and historic city centre, the 11th century cathedral including the 13th century Mappa Mundi map of the world are true treasures to behold, as were the Dora the Explorer socks i got for my little un from Hereford market for 50p!! Made my day that, i must be the only person who goes to a football match and buys a pair of kids socks. Unbelievable Jeff!
Strangely enough it was Pope Gregory the 9th inviting me for drinks aboard his steam yacht, the saucy sue currently wintering in montego bay with the England cricket team and the Balanese Goddess of plenty.

for the statement that kicked it all off and have a further browse of the site for other related items.
I have shockingly little sympathy with clubs who spend miles beyond their means and piss it up the wall. I know it's the fans who ultimately suffer, but perhaps this will lead, eventually, to supporters groups acting as a check on clubs to stop this sort of reckless spending from occurring time and again.
I was speaking briefly to a Coventry fan today who suggested that, following their relegation to L1, attendances have dropped to just 12,000/match. The break even point is 21,000, so that club is losing half a million pounds a month. Will they ever learn?

Whilst we are on the subject of Hereford it was interesting to hear the presenter on last nights ITV FA Cup highlights say that their win over local rivals Shrewsbury in the competition was a 'giantkilling'. Now i've deliberated over this because at first i thought what is he on about, there isn't THAT much between the teams then i realised that Hereford, although a capable conference club ARE a conference club and Shrewsbury are 2 leagues above. Now if you compare our game with Harrogate who are 2 leagues below us then that is classed as a 'giantkilling' even though there is the same difference in leagues. Another way of looking at it is if MK Dons beat Arsenal for example that would be a 'giantkilling'. Is Hereford beating the Shrews REALLY a GIANTKILLING?!

It does get lobbed about far too much these days, Andy. Reserve it for the really big upsets and it carries more weight.

It was also interesting to hear the commentator mention the club finances being strengthened by this win. It will do them a power of good. I did look over the fanancial statement by the Chairman. i find it incredible that they have not got any player sponsorship going. Even we had that and still have. I thought that was one of the most basic of revenue earning schemes. surely they are not that inept are they?
