What a shocker
Right at the death 2-2

Can’t get away from the fact had we have won those two games where we had a two goal lead, like we should have done, we’d now be second with a game in hand over the leaders Dorking.
Questions have to asked least of all, why we haven’t we learnt ?
We’re not strong enough, physically. All too evident against WSM Tues evening.

Presumably nothing to do with Wotton? At least it was only two points dropped rather than three.Dave_Pougher wrote: 01 Mar 2025, 17:24 Can’t get away from the fact had we have won those two games where we had a two goal lead, like we should have done, we’d now be second with a game in hand over the leaders Dorking.

Same old repeat performance.
I could see that coming as we foolishly fell deeper and deeper towards Devon Road as we do.
Wood must have had 80% of the 2nd half possession. We have too many weaklings in the side and as I have said before we need a strong tackling leader since September.
That leader certainly ain’t Threkeld . Carson is far too weak for this level of football everybody can see this.
Credit to Wood who never gave up and dictated the press.
It feels like a loss and 2 points in 9 is far from title winning form.
Play offs at best, needs to be a home tie as the thought of away on any plastic and it’s Goodnight Vienna.

This was a very good Match for a neutral but for a United Fan it was gutting. It was literally the last 10 seconds and we simply failed to stop their man who scored their first goal from 25 yards and he put it on a plate for Substitute Junior Dixon.
I thought we were excellent in the first half. Jordan Young scored after just 9 minutes. Matt Jay was terrific he was everywhere and scored the second after WJD made an incredible tackle to win the ball and pass to Jay.
This team is always better with WJD in the team but we really are making it a habit of conceding late goals. Make no mistake Boreham Wood are a very good team with a very experienced Manager.

Simple question. 12 months ago, would you have snapped hands off at offer of a solvent club and play offs this year?
Relax.
Relax.
We can't go on playing like this at home, I thought BW were the better team in the first half and we scored two against the run of play, second half was the usual desperately hanging on under relentless pressure.
This is not how Wottons Truro team played
Boreham Wood were the better team by miles and deserved to win let alone draw.
All the usual things, stronger, sharper, more physical,
quicker to second balls.
We battle and defend well until the pressure tells in the last 10 minutes buts that's all, we simply cannot keep possession of the ball, relieve that pressure and cause any sort of threat in attack.

Yet another match-winning position frittered away. How many 2-0 leads have we now thrown away this season? I am told it might be five! Well, you could see it coming. First half we were clinical, scoring with each of our two attempts despite having less of the possession and fewer opportunities created. Second half was another horror show - probably 80 % possession for BW, almost no football worth the name by United and again only two further attempts both on target but comfortably saved by their keeper. Only four attempts all game!!!!
The problem for me is the apparent lack of leadership on the field and the inability of the team to keep a high line and press the opposition. We just sat deeper and deeper, despite the manager doing his nut for most of the second half and we got our just desserts - for their part BW remained faithful to their game plan, playing football triangles and moving our midfield repeatedly out of position - and got their reward at the death. They were fitter, stronger and braver than us and we were lucky to even get a point - had the shot against the post gone in at 2-0 we would have lost.
I remain puzzled as to how a Wotton team can appear so spineless when teams have a go at them.

Modgull it is 3 times we have lost a 2 goal lead but now twice in 8 days after the debacle at Chelmsford last Saturday.
Chelmsford at Home finished 2=2 with a 82nd minute goal and today the 98th minute. Last Saturday the 92nd minute.
7 points dropped so 7th instead of 2nd with a game in hand of Dorking if we had seen out the 3 games.
Some fans might say "that's football" remember we won at Chesham in the 95th minute.

So we cannot hang on to a winning position, what a shock ,perhaps we ought to let the opposition score first, today we were never in control or comfortable even being two up, they were bigger ,tougher and faster to the ball, with the exception of dreyer and dyer and zanzala we are not strong enough, midfielders were backing away from tackles and both thomas and carson need to be coached in sticking to their wingers, not giving them the room to run at them and cross which they did all game.
This was yet another in a long list of 45 minute torquay, two up going into the break, a quick chat with the manager and we came out and get battered, something needs to change.
