Like most supporters who have witnessed this seasons debacle. We are not interested in who was the manager when we were last relegated.
That is for the history books.
This is now . This is where we lie.
This is the table. The buck stops with Johnson.
Fitness……Recruitment…..Results .
If he did not fancy the budget … he should have walked away and given the opportunity to a younger, hungrier manager who would have undoubtedly built a better fitter side .

Think a couple of posters have very short memories. Kevin Nicholson appointed during the Dave Phillips ownership/Stephen Breed as C.E.O, widely regarded as up there in the group of 'TUFC'S worst managers' by many, myself included, kept our club in this division twice, with what would have been, almost certainly far less resources than Gary Johnson has had this season .

If none of us have learned over the last 6 years that our ownership don't care much about the club, then I'm not sure where you've been hiding, as for our now almost certain relegation, yes, of course the buck does stop with Gary Johnson, he, is 100% culpable for it.

It was Gary Johnson who signed up a full squad, top heavy with midfielders, with absolutely no balance between senior players, probably in their last season, or like Asa Hall, maybe one season past his best, and untried, untested youngsters, Gary Johnson is in charge of, fitness, strength and conditioning, tactics, motivation, phycological well being, he's failed on all aspects.

Gary Johnson was the one who left himself no wriggle room what so ever, hence why we've had cheap youngsters on loan that have proved not fit for purpose, so have come and gone, always the case around pre-Christmas, stroke new year, around league 1 and 2, experienced players become available, more likely to want to come here on a 6month loan than permanently, I said before season even started, if budgets are being reduced, sign up a smaller squad, and pad the squad out through the loan market when players become available, we did the opposite and are now paying a heavy price.

The local board, and ownership are culpable also, through their silence and in-action, those of us who attend the games regularly, have posting across forums and social media since November/December, we saw the writing on the wall back then, it's irritating and in many respects sad, to see other clubs who were in a similar position at the turn of the year, act, and now pulling away from relegation, whilst our club sat on it's hands and did nothing, it let the situation continue, play out and fester, as we saw with unsavoury scenes at the end of the match yesterday, our club isn't once again toxic, its gone past that.

Big shout out to foreverTUFC , spot on post, but what Kevin Nicholson did-fans DO have short memories, I don't, I remember clearly, he achieved survival twice, on peanuts, finding rough diamonds like Keating along the way, and a TOP bloke who NEVER hid or blamed anyone, I know how well he's respected up at Exeter City, no doubt about it, I have a ton of respect for Kevin, as a player, manager, and top bloke aswell.

This thread has run its natural course,we will be in the south next season,so it matters little whether Johnson falls on his sword or waits till the end and goes back to his allotment in Bristol to tell war stories to similar old codgers behind the runner beans about what a brilliant career he had in football,there will be those like Hector who is currently e-mailing the vatican to get him canonised who will not accept the manager runs the club on a day to day basis and the buck stops with him especially so as with the exception of sharon in the office no one above knows anything about the club or football in general. he brings in the players, decides how we play, who to sub and when, the owner sits at home plotting his next property purchase so he can continue to fund the loss making machine that is Torquay united. I personally have no issue with that as interfering owners whose knowledge of the game can be written on the back of a postage stamp can be a permanent death knell for any club.
We all assume judging by the lack of quality in the team that he had a smaller budget than previously, Johnson knew this but he still signed up to pad out his pension pot, is that a lack of honesty and integrity or playing the system, he like the footballers still get paid the same regardless of the performance.
So yet again in a short space of time we will plan for the future with a new manager and many new players and if this cycle continues never learning the lessons of recent history.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if Gary Johnson was still manager in August.
He will persuade Osborne and Edwards he can build a team to take us straight back up. I sincerely hope he can but would have my doubts after the last two seasons ! Last time he took over some good players, Reid, Wynter, Davis, Cameron, Hall, added a few from Bristol City and got them playing in an attacking intense high pressing system which the current players especially the midfield with the likes of McGavin and Hanson seem incapable of.
This season the team plays nothing like the old Gary Johnson teams. It carried on with the team that nearly got promoted but now it's all hoofball.
Edwards didn't sack Gary Owers for taking us down, it took 6 weeks and a dreadful start to the next season for that to happen and the least I would expect is for that to happen again if Johnson doesn't have us up there challenging for the title from day one.
Can't see Nouble signing for us in the Nat South in the money he'd be on ! Would be good though ! Did Johnson not act fast enough still thinking his team were good enough to get out of trouble or was Osborne reluctant to open his wallet sooner ? It was same when Owers team went down , a quality striker Rhys Healey was brought in but far, far too late , scoring 6 goals in 8 games. If he had been brought in sooner and same with Nouble say with 12-15 games to go could have made the difference even in a poor side like ours.
