Yeovil v Torquay United Sun 1st Jan KO 3pm
A tough battle tomorrow on a boggy pitch.
Given the importance of 3 points to both teams I cannot help feel that Yeovil will shade it but so hope I am wrong.
2 nil to Yeovil especially if Ellis is not fit to play.

If anything a heavy pitch may help us, they like to get it down and play, whereas we, or Johnson's tactics are to lump it and go long, I cannot see us winning this game..Is there any team news, regarding Goodwin and Ellis?, I'd go 5 at the back, blanket defence and try and do a smash and grab.

Admiral obviously you had a liquid christmas, if hall, moxey ellis are out and lapslie walking(literally)wounded ,if we get away with losing 4-0 I will take it as a step forward, especially if Yeovil play like they did at our place second half.
No points, another game closer to relegation.

Reading between the lines within the Torbay Weekly article, it would seem the club will only be able and willing to bring players in on loan if we lose one of the existing loanees.
This would indicate no budget for additional full time contract players.
I do also see how within our full strength squad there is the potential to stay up - keeping them all fit and playing well is the problem, a responsibility which sits at GJ’s door.

I don't think it is reading between the lines. Johnson stated explicitly that he wouldn't sign any loanees unless one of the current ones left. It is a waste of resources having more loanees on your book than you can actually use on a match day. I don't think that necessarily means there is no more money available for permanent signings.Bristol_Gull wrote: 31 Dec 2022, 21:27 Reading between the lines within the Torbay Weekly article, it would seem the club will only be able and willing to bring players in on loan if we lose one of the existing loanees.

Watching from home in Bristol today (https://www.nationalleaguetv.com/ if you aren’t in the know yet) and whilst I’m grateful that we are not losing, in all I think it was a pretty dire first half, though I acknowledge that the conditions are poor and both teams are struggling in the wet.
Let’s see what the 2nd half brings

Didn't think it was dire ! We are playing really well, easily the better side, dominated the half, creating chances and not taking them as usual.
Yeovil will improve though as we never play like that for 90
Got a 1-0 defeat written all over this.

Priority number one Johnson must go. Sorry but the buck stops at his door. We have zilch to lose at this point in time.

Whilst some decent periods of play, it never looked liked it would result in chances let alone goals.
We will get relegated unless something changes.
