Olaf Koszela
On the OS is news that we have signed a very promising young player who has earned a Full Time Professional contract.
He has come up through the Youth Scheme and I hope all on this Forum will wish him well and not show any negativity. Wishful thinking I realise.

Anyone who shows such a promising young lad should not be a member of this forum. Homegrown players are the lifeblood of any club and Olaf deserves every encouragement to succeed.

That should read 'anyone who shows such a promising young lad any negativity should not be a member of this forum'! Brain working faster than fingers!
Good luck to the lad. If he is any good we should get shafted by a tribunal in about 2 years!!
Does anyone know what position he plays.?

Hopefully gets a bit of time on the pitch to prove himself this year
Congratulations, and good luck to the lad, it's nice to see a young lad been given the chance, especially with such strong tie's to this area.
However on the down side, sad to see the bullshit has already started before this lad's even kicked a ball in anger, negativity, really ? we've got to stop putting young players on such a high pedestal, like Halpin, Ives, Thompson and Lavercombe that have gone before.
You can't be positive for the sake of it, and patronising this young lad, will not help him one bit, if he gets pitch time for the first team, he'll treated no different any other, perform well the praise will come, play badly, it wont.
Young players need so much more than raw talent and potential. Football is a game of opinions, it can be harsh and brutal profession, where one young player will rip the shirt off your back to get step up the ladder, true. Managers and players at all levels can go from here to zero and back again in a short space of time, young players need to be mentally strong to make it.
There will be times he'll get an honest opinion from the manager, he'll see things written by pundits and fans alike which may not be to his or his families liking, that's football it happens, all young players need a coping mechanism, they wont make it in game with out.
So stop confusing 'honesty' with 'negativity' All us fans can do is, help give this lad the breathing space to develop, and as always, I'm sure we will.

I sincerely hope not. Young players need to be nurtured carefully if they are to have long and successful careers. Remember David Byng, rave reviews after his first game, only went on to play 24 games (half of those as sub), released and signed by Doncaster where he never got a game and ended with a free transfer to Ilkeston.Northampton gull wrote: 28 Jun 2018, 20:27 Hopefully gets a bit of time on the pitch to prove himself this year

Good luck to the lad. Good luck to any young lad on his journey in the football world.
However after the disaster last season on Harrops part makes me switch off instantly when you see him grinning with this young lad.
I know you can't keep going back but that's how I feel
