Solid sterling effort from the club over the last few weeks.

The Lavercombe deal suits us, not just Wigan.

We've had the balls to ship out the old shit. **** off Heslop, you useless arsehole.

We've signed Ajala and Harrad, two very good players.

We've extended Verma and Wright, two very good players.

We've shown the necessary bottle in giving up Hurst.

We've used just enough guile to have two games postponed in order that we might have more time to strengthen. Lest we forget the effect a similar delay had when we played AC Northants (is there a less likable club in England?) a couple of years ago.

All in all, well **** done TUFC.

No chance the club would have wanted the games called off (especially the Saturday one) as they have had very little in the way of incoming revenue recently but it might prove to be a blessing in the long term!

I agree with Matt; the club has done pretty well recently, and the lads deserves a big attendance against Wrexham in the FA Trophy on Saturday. With admission prices being reduced to almost giveaway levels, there's no excuse for a poor attendance.
And if we're going to get something out of this season in addition to the Great Escape, it's the FA Trophy.

Ha ha, well done Matt - some positivity goes a long way. Bet 2016 will go down as one of the best - points wise - in the clubs history - I reckon 90.

Er, I don't think he was talking about points particularly; more about the groundwork done by the club and the manager as a springboard for long-term sustainability and success. Nothing is guaranteed of course, but we now have a reasonable chance to avoid the drop. As for next season, who knows? Much will depend upon the support the team gets from fans from now on, and positivity is the key. Negativity is definitely not needed, not even in sardonic jest, thanks very much..

Gullscorer - I'm not being flippant - I really do believe 2016 will be a good year having turned a very difficult corner. Glad to see there are people on here who remain up for the cause. A good thread instigated by Matt.

Although I admit it's a reasonable start I think some of the comments on here are way over the top. Talk of 90 points in the year is fanciful at best and saying we have a reasonable chance of beating the drop is optimistic to say the least. We have signed two players, one of which played for our vey own lower mid table team and the other couldn't score in the league below us. I actually think they could both turn out to be decent signings to get us to hopefully 5th from bottom of this bloody awful league but even to do that we need at least another 3 decent signings.
We still have no proof that our novice manager has what it takes to actually achieve anything and we still can't fill a subs bench with professional footballers so I suggest we don't get too carried away just yet as the disappointment could be horrible. A reasonable start but lots more work to do is my verdict.

Bringing this back to the top because we're starting to see the fruits of exactly what I was talking about.

In years gone by we'd still have **** Briscoe lumbering up and down the line in place of Iffy Allen because the Board would have refused to release funds.

A thousand thanks once again to Mr Phillips (not you, Bill, you massive, massive ****), Mr Breed and the rest (who should not interpret my declining to mention them by name as a suggestion that their part is any the less significant).

Stay up or go down, you have the unbridled respect of every right thinking TUFC fan for what you have at least attempted to do for the club which it is so obvious that you love as much as any of us.

actually I think maybe 90 points was said in jest. after all. whats the point of 90 points in a calendar year. you can't add them together

I'm pleased that we seem to have found a bit more form but I will reserve judgement just yet. The squad still looks pretty thin and there are much tougher tests than Boreham Wood and Welling. Credit where credit is due but it's going to take a lot more of the same to rescue this dreadful season. Here's hoping we keep it up
