WOKING PLAYERS AVAILABLE ON LOAN

Post by portugull »

I have been looking at the Woking squad to see which players might interest the club given the urgent need to strengthen the squad if we are to avoid relegation.

Brian Saah. Age 28. well known to us as a capable centre back if he was prepared to go out on loan for the rest of the season.

Godfrey Poku. Age 25. made 39 appearances for AFC Telford last season. a combative mid fielder.

Giuseppe Sole. Age 27. appeared for England C team and may therefore be known to Kevin Nicholson.
Has scored 106 goals in 191 appearances for Woking and is a free kick specialist. In 2012 scored for Woking in 11 successive games.

Jimmy Keohane. Age 24. appeared for Exeter City 81 times scoring 9 goals from mid field. This season appeared 12 times for Woking scoring twice.

I just wondered if any fans felt that a loan signing of any of the above players would be merited given our desperate position at this time?

I think it is more likely to be a motivational tool rather than letting their better players leave. The only ones actually available will be fringe players that aren't wanted.

Two things: Could we afford their wages? Presumably Woking would want 100% of the wages paid. Secondly would any of them want to come? I'm guessing Saah would turn us down flat as the reason he left us in the first place was he wanted to be near London.
I grassed on Waller.

Forget Poku, he's on loan at Havant & Waterlooville in National South and scored on Saturday.

Poku would be a good tool in front of the defence, he was effective in winding up Aaron Downes against Telford last year. How Poku got away without being red carded in that match I do not know, fouling everyone!

Saah was very strong for us, most would welcome him back I think, but he's probably one of those players who's heart is in London.

Giuseppe Sole - his name rings a bell, didn't he score a couple of worldies last year à la Luke Young?

Jimmy Keohane was a good little player for Exeter. Surprised they released him. Would be more than happy to see him here.

Yes Hector I think Keohane is the most likely especially if he enjoyed the West Country way of life while at Exeter.
