We MUST win this game. No ifs, not buts, we have to be in the FA Cup this season. Why? In simple terms, we need the money! We totally (enter ruder and suitable adjective…I’ll stick to) ‘messed up’ the FA Cup last year with a disastrous defeat by Aldershot. However, that is way in the past.

What’s the best motivation? For as many Torquay fans to be at the FA Cup fourth qualifying round at BASINGSTOKE. Of course, the travel club (run by Mark Shepherd aka ‘Redhouse’ and Graham Riley aka….Graham…) will be available for fans to use.

We’d really love a full coach for this one. The away support this season has been amazing and we really need it, perhaps more than ever for Basingstoke. If Torquay United can get a good cup run going this season, it may be an absolute life saver, so we need as many fans as possible to support the team.

The pick up* times are the following;

Paignton Train Station – 9.30am

Torquay Coach Station – 9.45am

Newton Abbot, Pen Inn – 10.00am

Exeter Services – 10.20am

*If you need another pick up point, please inform either Mark or Graham and they’ll do their very best to pick you up at another/different location.

Adults – £25

13-17 – £20

Under 13 – £15

I think it’s important to note that those prices are quite superb. £25 for an adult and £5 off that if you’re aged 13-17!! Going by train would cost you £95 for a return and you have to have the hassle of changing stations, finding the ground, walking to the ground and rushing back to the station for the train home. A big NO NO!

If you drove, it would cost you much more than £25, you can’t relax, you can’t have a drink, you have to find a parking space. Another big NO NO!

With the travel club, it’ll cost you £25, you can relax the whole way, enjoy a comfortable and enjoyable atmosphere, get dropped off and picked up outside the ground and even win yourself some money! The Travel Club goes that extra bit further and enables you the chance to win up to £40! You could, theoretically, make profit on your day out! At the half way point of the journey, Mark will come round with a clip board and on that piece of paper are 90 different numbers, representing 90 different minutes. It’s a £1 per minute and if the minute you choose is the minute of the FIRST goal scored in the game, you could win £30*! If your minute is the last goal of the game, you could win £10*! If the game is a 1-0, you’ll pick up both! If the game is a 0-0 draw, then an official (i.e. a steward) will be asked to pick a number between 1-90 and the prize money will be determined that way. Unlimited amount of goes for all and it makes the game a little more interesting, especially if we’re losing!

Everyone and anyone is welcome on the travel club. We’re really pushing this away game and want as many fans as possible with us.

If you haven't heard already, we currently have 47 booked with the travel club for Basingstoke on Saturday. A huge thank you to every member of The Yellow Army who have chosen the travel club as their way of transport to our FA Cup fourth qualifying round match.

47 is an amazing amount, the most the travel club has -had this season so far. Wouldn't it be great if we had more? Wouldn't it be amazing if we had more than one vehicle going to Basingstoke? Our away support would look superb, even better than it usually does! We really need as many supporters as possible going to this one, we need more numbers than the brilliant aforementioned 47.

The Torquay United Travel Club​, Graham Riley​Mark Shephard​ need to know if you want to go to the game through the supporters coach by THURSDAY, due to booking another vehicle if (hopefully) necessary. If we get 20 or so more, we would have a full coach and a full mini-coach to Basingstoke!! Come on people, let's support the lads in our most important game of the season!
