This is my first post on here. Lifetime fan since 60s. Mitchinson,Harrison, Donnely era.
I would just like to say Thankyou to Dean Edwards for helping to save my beloved football club this summer. How long we will survive I have no idea. But I am sure we would not be playing now if Dean had not worked to get this consortium together.
My view probably not the same as some. But hey ho
Mike
Thankyou Dean

Good first post, Mike. Yes - poor ol' Deano is getting some stick on here but it was he who was instrumental in getting the consortium together which meant we were able to watch National League football this season even if it is very poor at times !!

Cannot understand why DE has received such a knocking over the last few days. I know him to be a committed TUFC guy and his decision to stand down to release the cost of his contract (if that's what he did) underlines this.

I echo the above sentiments. Some of the abuse he has had from the fans appears to be completely OTT.
Dean would have been appointed a DoF as he has lived and breathed in football circles for most of his working life. Who better to deal with agents etc on behalf of the board when they have no history of how it works, what the going rates are for players wages, insider knowledge, contacts, etc etc.
I agree that the salary is a luxury at our level, but totally understand why the board would have employed him in that role. To make him the focus of all our current ire is frankly embarrassing. If we are looking for someone to blame, the previous Managing Director (ie Wild Bill) is the one people should focus on.

And from myself, Thank you deano!
To the dotted line, We're on our way
Two posters in particular have stuck the back stabbing instrument in to the hilt. Bet they haven't got the nuts/guts to do it to his face. This is the "thank you Dean" thread, so backstabbers go to the other Dean thread to screech and shank.Modgull wrote:Cannot understand why DE has received such a knocking over the last few days. In conclusion, not all "smithys" are cooper-smiths and not all mushrooms are good for you - some are poisonous.

Thank you Dean, even though you got the pasty and chips wrong for our box hospitality v FC United of Manchester.
